Due diligence is the act of checking things out before committing your resources to them. It is sometimes confused with skepticism. It is better thought of as part of critical thinking. A skill and a tool.

Extreme claims require extreme proof.

For believers, this would fit. For us non-believers, i dont think alot of us are going for the too good to be true line no matter what you fill the blank in with, so no more gullibility than before.

I've thought about using that line before, but then I thought about it some more. Some religions don't sound good at all. The only thing that makes people follow them is fear of punishment.

POSSIBLY IS.Just because something sounds too good to be true doesn't mean that it is not true,it could very well be TRUE just as easily.
