How many things did you ask for
What did you ask for
and when did you ask for it?
And how many times?
Did you ever go to church?
What was that experience like?
Are you willing to try again?
Why or why not?

If you accuse our God of not answering prayer I think it would help for us to know these things. Please be honest. I realize some out there have decided their brains just cannot fathom there is a God you don't have to answer.

Icarus I get the feeling you are VERY VERY selective about your evidence and you don't gather any that does not verify your own thinking and theory. But that's okay Jesus loves you anyway.

God doesn't answer the prayers of atheists, that it why they are telling the truth. The only prayer that God answers of an unbeliever , is the prayer of repentance . You have to be right in your heart for God to anser your prayers. God doesn't answer everyone's prayers, the bible tells us that.

How can something that does not exist hear or answer a prayer?
People pray for things all the time. Sometimes those things happen and everyone says "My prayer was answered!" but perhaps that thing was just going to happen anyhow.
People who want to believe, do so. Insulting those who do not believe really doesn't help your case any.

I asked god to make me first in the class when I was 7 years old, but he gave me 20th position in class! I prayed for a good wife but he gave me a shrew and a ******. He did not give me 90% of the things I (prayed) asked for.
I have been asking him all the time , since 7 yrears up to 33 years.
I asked countless times to give me house, wealth, a good family etc. etc.
I went to church, temples, astrolegers etc. etc. my whole life praying to the one and only one god.
The experience was very temporary to live in hope and I was disillusuined.
I have found Inner Peace by my efforts without any material things and do not need to go anymore to church or temple.
So I have answered Why and Why not.

Deists have faith that God does not answer prayers however the bible has all that stuff approximately god ensuring to respond to prayers if human beings assemble mutually or maybe basically have faith. Atheists have been in all probability bearing on the Christian God.

If you're actually interested, read the information at the following links. "Why Does God Hate Amputees" is thorough and informative.

[Excerpt]
Prayer Does Not Work. Sorry.
Once again, it's all in your mind..
"In a long-awaited comprehensive scientific study on the effects of intercessory prayer on the health and recovery of 1,802 patients undergoing coronary bypass surgery in six different hospitals, prayers offered by strangers had no effect. In fact, contrary to common belief, patients who knew they were being prayed for had a higher rate of post-operative complications such as abnormal heart rhythms, possibly the result of anxiety caused by learning that they were being prayed for and thus their condition was more serious than anticipated."

Scientific studies have shown no correlation between prayer and healing, but that doesn't stop believers from claiming god answered a prayer every time someone is healed, or saying 'it was part of god's plan' every time they are not.

rofl. I don't believe in god but my mother did. She got lung cancer in the early 2000's (we're not sure of exactly but she was diagnosed with it in 2002). She died May 5, 2003.
So tell me.... my mother used to pray constantly. She had Priests and Nuns praying for her and with her. She had weekly blessings from the Priest.
Now she's dead.
Guess god didn't answer huh?
And if you say that god didn't answer because it was a lesson to me, I'm going to report you. If your god is so cruel as to let my mother suffer for years to a lingering death all to get me to believe, then your god is an arrogant jerk and I'd rather go to hell than worship him.
The answer? Is that there is no god.

I never counted
When I was a kid, I asked for things like clothes that fit, money so my parents could pay the bills, a special doll I saw at the store.
As an adult I prayed for healing for people who died, money to pay my bills (actually, I prayed for a job to EARN the money to pay my bills).
I was a three time a week church go-er. Church was fine. nothing bad happened to me, except being encourage to believe nonsense like prayer works.
After 25 years, I am done with church, god, prayer, and all that.
BTW, it was only after I went to college and got an education that my life improved for the better.
EDIT
Here is evidence that Larry what's-his-name is a scientific dolt.

Scientific studies show that heart patients, for example, do not have a higher chance of surviving when they're prayed for. End of discussion.
Have you tried praying to a jug of milk for a month and see if your prayers are answered more often, less often, or about the same?
