What if the Bible said "the sky is green and anyone who doesn't believe this will be cast to hell for eternity with no chance of parole..ever.. muahhahaha"

Would you still legitimately believe that the sky was green, even though everyone with a decent set of eyeballs can tell that its blue?

If you'd read the Bible, dumb questions like that wouldn't occur to you. Scientifically, our senses are perfectly made for observing the world around us, and the Bible complements our understanding, not contradicts. Okay, the educational level of Bible readers back then could sit still for creationistic claptrap, because the elders weren't much better off. Hey, we didn't know meteorites came from outer space until about 200 years ago. We are still kids in school compared to the eons God has over us. Don't insult the Bible, read it! B.I.B.L.E. stands for Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth. Keep asking questions!

Why are you trying to make christians sound stupid? That is a form of racism, ya know? And to answer your question. The sky is actually no color at all. The sky only has a blue tint due to the dust particles in the air. The more pollutants on a particular day, determines the shade of blue that our eyes perceive!

No Bob, I wouldn’t, I would weight the facts at hand. As a protestant I believe that God inspired men to write the Bible. The Bible is a collection of books that contains a record of how people have lived out and interpretated their faith throughout time. Some things are clear, like most of Jesus’ teachings, love thy neighbor etc., others parts of the Bible require study. To understand what the Bible has to say to us today, we must first understand what it meant to the people in their time, in their context. The Bible serves to guide us in our own faith journey and the church provides us with the structure to maintain order as a community of believers. But our faith is based on a personal relationship with Jesus Christ who calls us to a life of discipleship and service.

No some Christians would argue that the sky is really blue and that it is just a misspelling in the bible while others would believe that this the true and try and push the green sky theory in schools across the country.

I'm sure that made perfect sense to you. If the Bible did say that, then we'd simply swap the dictionary definition of green & blue. After all, the dictionary doesn't make any claims to its infalability like the Bible does.

You got it all wrong bro! If God created the sky then he also created the colors. I mean if he created a blue sky but told us it was green-Then it would be green! We wouldn't know any different. He is the Creator and we are the created!

They would just switch the names, so that green is now blue and blue is now green. And then they'll all hold hands and skip off into the sunset quoting scriptures under there breath in some hopeless attempt at making sense of it.

Hey Bob, you made a good point. I know where you are coming from! But be prepared for people to get mad because you have an opinion different from what they allow themselves to believe. Some of these people on this site are cruel especially the ones in a certain forum. Smile...

The Bible is the inspired word of God. If it said that the grass was green would you consider it evidence that God had spoken it into being or would you dismiss the evidence simply because you can see it to be so. Only when we truely seek to know God through Jesus, will He be revealed to us and only then do we start to see Him in His true colours.

Are you prejudiced against those who are colorblind? Are you prejudiced against people who might NOT have a decent of eyeballs and thus need glasses?

You're pretty antagonistic. Be happy!
Live and let live.
