You would think that anyone with half a brain and the ability to think rationaly would see religions for what they are, unfounded belief in ridiculous ideas. Why do some otherwise intelligent and educated individuals throw their intelect away and embrace such ludicrous beliefs? Is it fear of death? I can not understand how anyone who thinks about it can come to the conclusion that there is a god, or that their religion is correct. I welcome responses to my inquiry from god people, as I would love it if someone would make sense of this.

The profess 1 Corinthians 13 and yet have I to see my husband family act anything close to loving. I am a Catholic and have found this path best for me ... it's not for everyone. Just as Independent Baptists are not for everyone ... and so forth. I generally see them shun the homeless person in the back, tell him he can not use their bathroom! If you don't have all the rght clothes, make up, and hairstyle they treat you like a second class citizen and make it clear they pity you. So if their core value is love ... why are they so unloving?

no longer believe in Santa Clause. Seriously. When you were a kid you believed in Santa, but you grew up and saw that it was just your parents giving you a story to help keep you in line, "Be good or Santa won't bring any toys!" How is the God myth any different? Instead of toys it's the myth of heaven. The church is giving you a line so you keep giving them money. Christmas is still fun, and giving and receiving presents is nice, but it's recognized that Santa is a representation of the giving spirit. Why insist that there actually was/is a Jesus/ God when the message is care for your fellow man? Aren't you losing the message with the insistence of the dogma?

As a personal project I am reading up on Archbishop Oscar Romero.

While I cannot find the film "Romero" for rental per the suggestion of a Priest, I am forging ahead collecting info.

Have any of you read good articles or books on the deceased Archbishop? Or found good websites?

The topic is sad, core Catholic struggle for the people and amazing from a political/US foreign policy perspective...

I for some reason always had the impression that if you state you are agnostic it means you don't know and you don't care to know. However, it seems that being agnostic doesn't necessarily mean you don't care to know, after all. Your thoughts?

God didn't allow anyone hurt Caim, He allowed him go away and start a new life somewhere else. Why? This passage is very discouraging, isn't it?

I believe Caim had the chance to redeem himself in another life and that is waht happens to us, we all have several chances to redeem ourselves by living several lives. I know you are going to say that's not what is in the Bible and that God gave Caim another chance in his life (not after his death), but as everything in the Bible, wouldn't that be a parable?

Your thoughts?

I was raised in a pentacostal church and attended church up until about 2 years ago. Since then I have had a strained relationship with God and a bitterness towards organized religion. I still believe in God but to many things have been said and done at the church I had been attending that I did not agree with. Also it was a small congrgation and everyone knew everyone elses business and were extremely judgemental and hypocritical. Ok so anyways I should tell you I am a single mom of 2 and I recently carried a baby for a gay couple. What I need to know is what kind of church should I be looking for. Up until about a week ago I had no plans on attending church again but something in me is telling me to go. So any advice would be appreciated. Also I am in the Phoenix area so if any of you know of an accepting church near me that would be great. Thank you.

I heard taking a vow of silence can help you spiritually and mentally because of religiouse beliefs. But if you do take a STRICT vow of silence, is there any actuall benefit? Is there any side effect like forgetting how to speak your language or maybe not being able to speak at all? How long would you have to take a vow of silence to know when your ready to speak again? I'm really curious on this matter. If anyone can anyone answer these questions in deep detail I would appreciate it. And please dont put any small answers with hardly any detail at all, if you do, it'll show that you dont know what your talking about.

I have a friend who takes the bible completely literally and he explained the dinosaurs by quoting a couple bible passages that mentioned beasts. I am just curious if there are any bible passages that the Christians are prepared to point to when life on another planet is found.

Many ask the question " What is God's will for my life". The simple answer is to serve others. What is it that you love to do for others? That is the area that God has gifted you. Do it as unto the Lord and enjoy the blessings he pours into your life.

Well i remembered, when i was in college my theology prof and me had a little, debate..
My prof said, all human being born here in the world have original sins.. Original sins starts when you still a baby. Meaning the moment you saw the light of the world you automatically has the sin.. They called taht original sin.. that why they saying nobody is perfect int his world, and all the people are born with sins..
So? if that so? if that was the lesson that my college professor learned in their craft, would it be accurate?? coz their teaching it in college level?
So doesnt it confusing.. Is in it, Jesus Christ was born here in the world? so He also have original sin? technically his not perfect too?
what can you say??

((( anyway, Im not an anti-Christ or anything against to our ALmighty. I just have questions, and as a Catholic, i guess i have the rights to know everything who really or what really im worshipping.))) tnx
