Sorry, but copying and pasting bible verses does not answer any questions an athiest/agnostic might have.

Maybe you haven't asked one that people take seriously enough to put in any real effort yet

This one certainly isn't at the top of my list.....

But notice...no copy and paste!...:-)

bibliophile1954's answer speaks volumes.

It is all they have. No other supporting evidence at all.

Just a book, full of inaccuracies and untruths, that was written over thousands of years by bronze age nomads, that was oral tradition for hundreds of years, that has been edited, mistranslated, and transcribed dozens of times each before it came to be the version we have now.

The fact that the OT and the Torah are supposed to be the same book, but have major differences speaks volumes for the reliability of the bible.

But it is all they have.

I don't mean this to be disrespectful to anyone, but from my experience with Christianity (30 years, my parents are pastors), intellectual speculation and in-depth investigation into the rationality of Christianity's claims is usually not encouraged. Part of the idea of a "child like faith" has, unfortunately, been taken to mean that you should accept the spiritual dictates of your religious authority figures, and that to question what they or the bible say is to be lacking in faith and humility.

because their brainwashed and only believe in the bible. i know because i used to be one, but i'm not any more.they use guilt trips, my sister is notorious for that but she doesn't get to me anymore because i opened my mind and started reading mythology, before christians were pagans and their gods and goddesses are more to my liking, example instead of being preached to about hell,i'd rather read about pallas or hades. pagans have morals, and can be kind. i was following jesus and gave away just about all my posessions, like the bible says, didn't get me no where, though i must have helped some people.in california is a church for aphrodite, so maybe sometime in the future their will be more pagan churches.i would like to see that.

Because, as you've seen in the first answer, they use ONE book as the guide for their entire existence. Pretty scary putting all your eggs in one basket, and trusting that whoever wrote it all those years ago had all the answers. I don't trust anyone else with the big decisions in my life.

athiest know in their heart that there really is a God.

We are made in the image of God, but you know right from wrong from when you were born.

You will have no excuse for rejecting Jesus on judgement day, either will the athiest. They KNOW what they are doing, it is not by mistake. Just like if you stole something, you KNOW it is wrong, but you did it anyway.
