Do you not care what happens to the earth because you believe everyone is just going to die so what is the big deal? The Big Deal is everyone should know the LORD before the earth tops it rocker and everyone perishes without the Lord.
Russian official, Sergey Lavrov, and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice exchanged sharp words at a luncheon Wednesday on the subject. Rice pushed for tough new sanctions to pressure Iran to suspend uranium enrichment, and Lavrov said Moscow dismissed her request.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the nuclear issue is "closed" and vowed to defy any U.N. Security Council move for more sanctions.

This was where the christian creed was rewritten in order counteract valid loopholes discovered by arius, concerning the Trinity. Does this action not just show that the church waswilling to change vital elemants of their worship just sothat othars would not steal their followers???

If they cant take the immense Theological scrutiny that comes their way.........then get out of the "harvesting" business.

Most people dont question hindu or Buddhist beliefs because they dont go around trying to convert people.

Those that do......... better be ready for the debate and challenge that will ensue to bring Truth to the surface.

While going through a raging battle, where you have are tired and going through a physical, spiritual, emotional battle all at the same time, how does one stand?

I've been going through so much. Because I am so busy and have so much pressure on me right now, I'm having a hard time not falling into peacelessness (not a word, i know) and i'm getting anxious, getting worried, and making myself sick.

i want very much so to stand during the raging storm. i pray, i read the bible.... the other night, i prayed for an hour and felt such closeness with God and peace. the next day, everything just seemed 10x worse....

how do you stand during these times?

Jesus supplied booze for the party when they ran out and it is considered a miracle. Is it OK to supply alcohol but not drink it? I never have understood this. Even as achild growing up in church. The sunday school teacher would give some poor excuse like "wine was non-alcolholic back then."

I can assure you that there is nothing to fear but fear itself. Anyone who tells you your gonna go to hell for not doing what is given to you to believe by them is nothing more then a liar.

"Divine justice" for all those times we were trying to convert you?

Seriously though, I've seen a huge increase in the amount of Muslims that are attempting to convince Christians to convert to Islam.

Anybody have any ideas on why this is? Or have snarky comments to add?

By the way, no offense to Muslims intended. Not making a judgment, just an observation.

What if everyone just lived in their happy little religion bubble and didn't try to change anyone else? Would that be alright, or would we still need to get rid of religion?

How to Believe in God
Six Easy Steps

1. First, you must want to believe in God.

2. Next, understand that believing in God in the absence of evidence is especially noble.

3. Then, realize that the human ability to believe in God in the absence of evidence might itself constitute evidence for the existence of God.

4. Now consider any need for further evidence (both in yourself and in others) to be a form of temptation, spiritually unhealthy, or a corruption of the intellect.

5. Refer to steps 2-4 as acts of “faith.”

6. Return to 2.

If he was really god's only son, why wouldn't god have foreseen that humans might want to know exactly what Jesus said, rather than have it written down by other men generations after his death.

Do you think the son of god might have been illiterate? (as all hippie laborers were from the Galilee in that time)

This is branching off of my last question, which I got a lot of respectful and GREAT answers from.

Now, I want to elaborate a little more on some of the answers I received.

First, I know that Christians are persecuted severely in other countries. I am not comparing the homosexual persecution to those of the "christian women being raped and murdered in third world countries".

This question is strictly for Christians in the USA.

How is persecution increasing here in the US?

Someone brought up the removal of god from our schools in 1963. Would this really count as persecution?

Look at it this way. Our country has the seperation of church and state, a law. In order for that to be persecution, wouldn't it have to an an UNJUST and CRUEL restraint?

How does that compare to homosexuals not being allowed marriage in the government recognized sense?

Answer this honestly. If you don't you are only lying to yourself.

How many hours a week do you spend praying or attending church services?

Second question: How many hours a week do you spend volunteering/ helping others.

Volunteering while trying to convert people to your religion does not count.
