While going through a raging battle, where you have are tired and going through a physical, spiritual, emotional battle all at the same time, how does one stand?
I've been going through so much. Because I am so busy and have so much pressure on me right now, I'm having a hard time not falling into peacelessness (not a word, i know) and i'm getting anxious, getting worried, and making myself sick.
i want very much so to stand during the raging storm. i pray, i read the bible.... the other night, i prayed for an hour and felt such closeness with God and peace. the next day, everything just seemed 10x worse....
how do you stand during these times?

the lack of peace originates in the attack satan launches on your mind...evidenced by the anxiety and worry.
In all that God gives us to fight..in all of the armor...notice that He says.."above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one" Ephesians 6:16
It is your faith beloved...that guards your mind against the enemy. Not just prayer and reading...You have to believe that you already HAVE the victory. The devil would like you to think that you are desperately fighting FOR it. You have to believe in Faith that God has not brought you this far, to leave you. You have to believe by Faith that NO WEAPON formed against you shall prosper. That doesnt mean that there will be NO weapons..it means that they shall not prosper over you, amen?
When the enemy assaults your mind with those fiery darts of anxiety and worry you have to lift that shield of faith and declare..."I AM more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus". And then as the Word says...stand still and SEE the salvation of the Lord.

It's important that you keep praying, fasting, reading your word and don't give up. Remember everything that Job went through and even though it was very hard, he stayed strong But the most important part of the story is that in order for the devil to put Job through everything that he put him through the devil had to get permission from God and the whole thing was a test to prove how faithful Job would stay to God and the only reason God allowed Job to go through this was b/c he knew Job;s heart and he new he would be able to stand strong and get through it. Stay encouraged and know that God loves you sooooo much!

You have the right idea. We do all that we can do to follow what is right, Christ's example. If that is not enough, then we demonstrate our faith and courage by not yielding to the pressures around us. It is at such a time that God will assist us and get us through our crises. Look at the old poem about the footsteps in the sand. At the times when he most needed help, he saw only one set of footprints instead of two. He complained to God wanting to know why he had been abandoned in his time of need. It was then that God explained that it was at those times when God carried him, thus only one set of footprints.
What you describe is the epitome of practicing faith, moving forward, not knowing how, but trusting in God to keep us going toward our righteous goal.
On a practical leve, you need to assess your situation, think it through, ponder your alternatives, make a decision, present it to God in prayer and listen or feel His answer in your heart and in your mind. If you feel calm, comfortable and peaceful inside, then you have a positive answer from God that your choice was good. If you feel uncomfortable or ill at ease, then you have your answer that your choice was not right. Go back and try again.

Are you truly trusting in God? Have you really released that sitaution to Him? Worrying and doubt is not from God. Just like someone posted before...I encourage you(and all christians) to put on your armor daily, continue to stand on God's word, confess it with your mouth by speaking it out loud...cast down thoughts of doubt and unbelief. Notice that when Jesus told Peter to walk out of the boat and onto water towards Him, Peter didn't began to sink until he took his eyes off (and focusing on the storm) of Jesus and when Jesus came to pull him out of the water the storm didn't stop until Jesus and Peter got back inside the boat. But the point is that Jesus was with him through the storm....
So the question arises, Is the situation the problem? or, our heart towards the situation the problem?

Remember that there are times God subtracts before He adds. Tribulation = Perseverance = Character. You trust in God and allow Him to guide you. Psalms 33 might help. "Rejoice in the hope of the Lord"

God will not test you beyond your endurance, there are many times in our life when we cry that we cannot go on and yet somehow we do, it is also true that we say we suffer more than we actually do, it is our human weakness to do this.
The lesson is to bear our sufferings with patience and wait on the Lord, remember no pain=no gain and no cross= no crown.
Your ordeal will not last forever as all things pass.

It says in the Bible to give all our troubles and worries to Him. When you pray, just KNOW and Trust God hears you and will help you in His own time, because He knows your future and is preparing you for what's ahead.
Picture this. Parents and children. When parents want to teach their children good values and responsibilities, sometimes consequences are required, but all along parents love their children, and want what's best for them.
God is your heavenly father and he loves you & want what's best for you. Just trust him and KNOW He's with you in everything.

The closer you get to God the more Satan pounds on you. Put the armor of God on. Ask God for his peace.

Remember Job and all he went through. God never left him and he ended up with more than before. God never leaves us. Just sometimes we think he does.

to stand means not to give up on your faith. I agree the devil is after you and putting you to his test to see how strong you are,if he can lure you back.god will help you . tonight while you are alone get on your knees and call his name from your heart , tell him you surrender to him and his will ,you will feel his presence if you meant it and it comes from the heart. don't try to fool him he will know.he is alive in you , you just have to believe.god will ease your pain....
