YOUR GOD is very confusing. I am just roving because I can't figure him out.
He is a myth anyway.

Bush has the gift too. He looked in Putin's eyes and could see his soul.

"Do not lay a hand on the boy," he said. "Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God." [Gen 22:12]

"Remember how the LORD your God lead you all the way in the desert these forty years, to humble you and test you in order to know what was in your hearts." [Deut 8:2]

"The LORD your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul." [Deut 13:3] We'll assume that God knows the hearts of men, so let us determine if the above three verses are necessarily contradictions.

Could it be that these three instances simply serve to reveal and verify to man that which is already known by God? Anyone who has ever had a college chemistry course can probably relate to the following. A chemistry professor comes into class, and says, "I will now add acetic acid to this compound to see what happens." The professor already knows what will happen! After the experiment, he might even add, "I now know that such and such results will occur after adding the acid." Here he is simply putting himself in the place of the class, and speaking for them.

What the three verses could be showing is that once again, God is not some aloof sky-god who merely dictates. Instead, he relates. By asking questions, by claiming to have found something, he relates and allows man to play an active, not passive, role in the relationship. For example, Abraham now knew that God knew his heart. And he also knew God's knowledge was true in light of the 'test' that he just went through.

In this supposed contradiction, along with the one immediately prior, the critic perceives ignorance on the part of God because of a belief that an omniscient God ought to dictate. Why can't an omniscient God refrain from dictating, and simply relate in a way which intimately involves humanity?

If the Bible was written today it wouldn't leave the editors desk because it is so seriously flawed.
The characters are unbelievable, the plot is beyond bizarre, confusing, and schizophrenic.
I doubt it would even make print....Or would it?
I can imagine it might have a cult following....
Is it possible for a Christian to look at the contents of the Bible objectively?

If he's a myth , why do you care ?
God knows all . and if you actually read Deuteronomy . What it means is he knows what they are capable of , but he tests them to find out if they know if they are worthy . It also means That God knows the nature of man , but do we have the capacity to change ? One more reference is that You're steps are " divinely ordered " which means there is a plan for you if you follow Jesus and if when you become one then a plan for you will take effect .

I realize that you HAVE to say that he is myth in order to get someone mad at you. Well, I don't hate you, nor am I mad at you..I will answer you with respect since I assume that you really WANT to know the answer.

Yes, God knows what is in our hearts. Yes, he tries to find out what is in our hearts. He doesn't have to try "hard" to find out, if that's what you mean.

God is my God and yours, even though you are not ready to accept Him as your God. He is here, He is real, He is OUR God and He is waiting for you to accept Him when you are ready to open your arms.

Don't be bitter, just keep trying to find out what things make 6 billion people turn to Him everday and rely on HIs grace to live another day. You will find it if you want to!

Dear "Additional Details" As you are an 'ex-spurt', on what do you base your theory? Why not spend your time in studying the source of Christian faith - the Bible - instead of blowing smoke using outdated, recycled rantings. You people know not of which you speak and you fail miserably in your attempts to disprove and bend it's message to make your point. I suppose it didn't provide you with your 'mythical' necessities. Why not use your heart instead of your head?

well, God created the human and gave them the mind which is specific for the human species to use it. God knows how you will use it but he gave you the brain to let you choose your path. He knows which way you will go but he still want you to decide your way by yourself so you don't blame anyone for the choices you did in your life.

"God tries men......." that means the God wants to see who is really believing in god and will not change his faith by the time and the different events.
