I have no problem voting for a Mormon because they are running for public office and not running for a possition in my church. I voted for a Morman to represent me in congress because I thought out of the two he would do the best job. I don't agree with their theology and would prefer to be represented by someone the most like me however I will to vote on the issues that are important and their character. Like I won't be voting for Rudy because of his affairs. If he lies to his wife he will lie to us!

I do like Romney but I agree with one of the other guys more often that I do with him. For that reason alone I think I'll be voting for one of the other guys. But I keep hearing people say they won't vote for him for his religion alone. What do you think?

Who here knows what purgatory is?

1 Cor. 3:12-15: "Now if any man builds upon the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each man's work will become evident; for the day will show it, because it is to be revealed with fire; and the fire itself will test the quality of each man's work. If any man's work which he has built upon it remains, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work is burned up, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved, yet so as through fire."

The main thing to remember is that Prugatory is ONLY FOR THE SAVED. The Catechism of the Catholic Church defines purgatory as a "purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven," which is experienced by those "who die in God’s grace and friendship, but still imperfectly purified" (CCC 1030). It notes that "this final purification of the elect . . . is entirely different from the punishment of the damned" (CCC 1031).

I was watching a programme all about young children and horrible illnesses they suffer from and how they do not live long.

Why does God let this happen?

Alot of people say "God isn't cruel, it our own sins which cause suffering" but how can a terminal or painful illness be justified against an innocent child? Apart from apparently being related to Adam and Eve, what has this child done wrong?

Thanks

I'm a Christian [not a fake one] and I'm gay. I'm a virgin and I'm 17 but I'm gay and I always have been. I've never been molested or anything. The Bible says that homosexual sex is wrong. It doesn't say that being homosexual is wrong. It's not a choice. I need your thoughts. Only Christians who know about this subject respond please.

When traditional tribal names are used by pagan and New Age non-Natives, [or with remote NA tribal blood] they frequently discuss NA religion in knowing terms.

Are these portrayals an accurate reflection of your tribe's traditional beliefs?

by the fact that they only ranted against man-on-man relationships and never mentioned woman-on-woman? You'd think if it was the nature of the coupling that was so abhorrent, they would have got equal treatment.

So...who's your favorite from the opposing viewpoint? While Crimmsonandclover is highly entertaining, I'd have to say Hug Briggade is my favorite. I swear, nothing rattles her. Probably the closest to being a christian in deed as well as name that I've seen in here.

Law reflects but in no sense determines the moral worth of a
society...the better the society, the less law there will be. In
Heaven, there will be no law, and the lion will lie down with the
lamb...the worse the society, the more law there will be. In Hell,
there will be nothing but law; and due process will be meticulously observed.

How can you believe that there are three different levels of "heaven" if you also believe in the bible? The bible states that there is only one. Futhermore, i believe there are many inconsistencies between the two books. Mormons, which one takes precident over the other?

"Green is Satan's favorite color, typified by copper, Satan's favorite metal because it is bright and shiny on the surface, while soft and corruptible inside. When subjected to the outside elements, it turns green; therefore, copper has been the favorite metal of occultists the world over, because it is the favorite color of their god, Lucifer."
