I have no problem voting for a Mormon because they are running for public office and not running for a possition in my church. I voted for a Morman to represent me in congress because I thought out of the two he would do the best job. I don't agree with their theology and would prefer to be represented by someone the most like me however I will to vote on the issues that are important and their character. Like I won't be voting for Rudy because of his affairs. If he lies to his wife he will lie to us!

I do like Romney but I agree with one of the other guys more often that I do with him. For that reason alone I think I'll be voting for one of the other guys. But I keep hearing people say they won't vote for him for his religion alone. What do you think?

I agree with you. We aren't electing a minister for our local church - we're electing a president. Of course I happen to be LDS myself, so I'm not sure if I'm allowed to comment... ;-)

Vote your conscience -- I like that character is the driving force in your thoughts on this.

Romney is not running for his church he is running to lead this country -- if he is nominated I hope he will be up for the job.

I tend to trust Rudy's tough on crime attitude

I won't vote for an evangelical Christian, especially if he makes that a big deal and is backed by the Christian Coalition, etc. THEY scare the beejeebers out of me!

Your approach sounds Great to me! I want someone who I can trust, what ever their religion.

Sounds like some people really think Mormons are followers of the devil? If by their fruits ye shall know them, they should be able to see the much good that comes from them and know they do not follow the devil. Very childish of them, they should grow up a bit.

as long as he (or anyone) can keep their religion out of their decision making then i'd vote for him if he shared a passion about the same issues as me.

you may want to search into his (or anyones) history a bit to be sure that they keep religion and politics separate

I think religion has no place in politics.
