emo kid. they aren't goth, but stole a lot of style ideas from the goth movement and the punk movement as well. they are usually rich kids from good families that still want to complain about their lives and listen to crappy music. the thing that bothers me the most though is that they all claim to be non-conformist. think about that statement...they ALL claim to be non-confirmist...like the rest of their friends.
it seems individual thought and style is a thing of the past.

Have you considered what he has been and has not been taught. I know laugh if you want but think about it. Early he is taught, in school, don't touch anyone, you invade their space. If you do touch anyone, be sure to ware a condom, just in case. You came from a random chance of events, that is the only reason there is life here on this planet. You will live, work, die, and no one will care. The best you can hope for is to leave a few children who will remember you for at least a little while. You live is meaningless, You world is dying, and it is your parents, and your country's fault. Those how believe in a higher power are delusional you must be stronger that that.
The simple truth is this. Before 1963 there where two incidents of children being hurt in public schools. In 1963 O'harra won the case making school prayers go underground. in 1966 the first student school shooting took place. since that event, over 9000 children have been wounded by school shootings. this is easily looked up on the web 9000. The teen pregnancy rate has gone through the roof. std rates have gone off the charts. The number 1 killer of teens? suicide. We are reaping what we sowed, but our children are the ones paying the price. You can not remove the most important part of the human being, without a effect. Laugh if you choose, but We put God out, and now we are dealing with that.

Hi BD,
folks express themselves in different ways. since this is school, this young person simply must like it.
don't judge folks by how they look. In the past 3 years, I've had the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life. The Harley Guy with the tats and biker clothes can be a real nice person. The dude with the pink spikes can be a kid with a terrific attitude and outlook. You just never know, and really, should give people the benefit of the doubt.
People are all different with differing tastes. That's what make the world so interesting.
Do you know where you'll spend eternity?
Read Romans.
In Christ,

y do u judge people? Everybody has there own opinion on what they want to believe some people just want to be noticed in there own special way look at me for a Minuit people see me as being to sentimental because I read and write poems some people see me as pray but if u look a t the bright side of things if you look at the glass half full then you will have a beater outlook on things but if you look at the glass half empty then your life is going to hell try not to let things get over you just cuz somebody looks different does not mean that you discrimanate aganst them the simple thing is that you should try to get to know them this is were the quote "dont judge the book by its cover" try to talk to him see why he dresses like that try to get to know him better then look at the good things that the person has hay you might just learn a thing or two so try not to judge people by what they look like dress like or what they eat just try to under stand how they are ok much love bye.

These kids (the Goth Kids) are trying for attention, and additionally to attract others in the community that use "Goth" to identify themselves.
While it is true they do want to be noticed and "misunderstood", they are a conformist group just like the ones they shun. This group has its own form of preferred music and have many bizarre interests in common.
By and large, they are a non-threatening clique on a recognizable scale.

Good try on calling a recess on the Christian Atheist War. At one time or another, kids and sometimes adults have worn absolutely outlandish outfits. Most of them outgrow the need for attention. My son-in-law, who just turned 41, has finally stopped wearing a mohawk. Everyone in their own time.

Gee, read a few history books. Each generation has those people who drop out of society's norms and those who embrace them stricter.
The fourties had Zuit suits and the Jitter Bug.
The fifties had McCarthism.
The sixties had hippies and acid rock.
The seventies had disco and polyester leisure suits.
The eighties I slept through.
The nineties I was too busy to care.
And now we have Goth.
But the one constant through all these time periods is the notice that "normal" people make of these "kids" and their way out fashions!

Oh c'mon, it's just -style-. Kids love style. Especially if it makes grown-ups look at them funny. One kid has a big argument with his parents and his eyeliner streaks, and the other kids say 'Hey, that looks cool! I'm gonna do that!'
Also some people (kids or adults) will do anything for attention.

From my experience, they wanted somebody to look at them and/or give attention. It worked! It's just a rebellion thing. Every generation has something like this. Wait till jobs and responsibilities kick in. Unless they end up working for a Goth Fortune 500 company.

AND we wonder why the kids can't learn and the teacher can't teach. All THIS helps to lead into why kids are being bullied, or doing the bulling.THEY get picked on for being different, or they are in clicks. LETTING then wear gang colors, or provocative dress and more, all are masks for kids hide behind. ITS a well know fact the when students dress alike,[yes some kind of dress code] it has a very positive affect, and helps to remove those masks they hide behind.
