"It appears to me (whether rightly or wrongly) that direct arguments against Christianity and theism produce hardly any effect on the public; & freedom of thought is best promoted by the gradual illumination of men's minds which follow from the advance of science."

Often we are accused of offering things that we don't. I'd like to find out what others DO offer.

Myself, I offer the first cup of coffee every morning to my Gods, as well as libations of alchohol and offerings of incense to celebrate various festivals.

made by the Devil to deceive you? Could it be possible that everything that you do is reversed? Maybe all of the things that you consider right will send you to Hell and all the things you consider wrong will send you to Heaven.

Here is a passage from Newsweek article
"Muslim American advocates have critiqued the press coverage of the Pew study, saying it focused too much on the bad news and not enough on the good. The bad news, however, bears repeating: 26 percent of Muslims age 18 to 29 believe that suicide bombing can be justified. Thirty-eight percent of that group believe that Arabs did not carry out the 9/11 attacks. These data, combined with the rising religious conservatism of young Muslim Americans, have led some experts to argue that differences between Europe and America have been overblown, that affluence and education do not inoculate a society against radicalization. "This idea that all those who are middle class are exempted from extremism has always been false," says Geneive Abdo, author of "Mecca and Main Street." "The leadership of the extremist movements have always been highly educated Muslims."

If God created the angels, with NO free will, the angels have NO free will. They do what God says and thats the end of the story. They have no compacity to rebell, cause they have no free will.....

Then how did the Devil come to be?
He was an angel....who rebelled? But how did he do that when he had no free will???

I believe in god. I am a christian. Dont think I am not.
I just thought that was a little interesting.

It's much harder to teach Christians about scientific misconceptions when they've been insulted in the past for believing in them. Don't ya think?

An atheist is walking through the woods one day, when Big foot jumps out right in front of him.
Panicking, he yells out, “Oh God help me!”
A few seconds later, a big booming voice comes from above….”I THOUGHT YOU DIDN’T BELIEVE IN ME?”
Without missing a beat the Atheist replies, ‘Well, up until about two minutes ago I didn’t believe in Bigfoot either!’

Hello you guys! Now I know you all like debating about religion and asking questions about it and Jesus and God and Muhammad and evolution but now I think its time for y'all to take a break from all these religious questions so I'm going to ask a really off-topic question!

What do y'all think about Spongebob Squarepants? Do you watch him? What is your religious view on watching Spongebob Squarepants or just Spongebob Squarepants as a cartoon character? Peace out y'all x

I have heard so many people say that Catholics are not True Christians. This question is directed at the people who say this.

From the information I have, Jesus' own disciple Peter was said to be the first pope. Therefore Jesus' disciples carried out meaning Catholicism (as opposed to Orthodox or Protestant).

Then isn't it true that started with the Reformation in the 16th century? Not Jesus' disciples?

but inwardly are ravening wolves?

You shall know them by their fruits.
That bad fruit would be murders, death, hate, lies, slanders, false accusing, breaks covenants, false doctrines (Denies the Father & the Son. Denies the cross. Denies the Resurrection.)
The Good fruit would be faith, hope, life, love, joy, peace, patience, honest, truth, good reports, etc...

God has shown me very clearly that it is his perfect will that every one of his children be physically healed. It is a blessing which the Lord Jesus has already paid for; just as He paid for our salvation by the shedding of his blood. Jesus has been teaching me on this subject for several years. I am now at a point where I need to join a new church. I have been visiting a particular church for quite some time. However, when I asked the pastor if he believed that it was God's perfect will to heal us all, He told me that if this were so, He told me that if it were so, then Jesus would not of had to go to the cross; which makes no sense at all to me, concerning this matter. For Jesus going to the cross had nothing whatsoever to do with us being physically healed. The pastor seems to deliberately avoid ever teaching about this particular matter. I believe that Jesus has already paid the cost for our physical healing. Do you believe that I should go ahead and join this church, or move on?
