The first thing I do is see if it is in the Bible, then see if it lines up with the word of God, if it goes against Gods word then you know immediately its not truth. The Bible is our Moral Compass and our guide to the Truth. Some religions don't believe in Jesus. I do because I have been so blessed by living by the New Testament. I have a peace, I cannot hate, I have just been totally changed by Jesus Christ, I no longer have to worry about the problems in this world, I am not seeking anything any more, there is nothing in me that thinks something is missing, when you believe Jesus and the bible everything lines up. If you would like for everything to line up for you and have peace accept Jesus as your personal Saviour today, just say this short prayer believing, Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!! Remember Jesus will help you to grow into the Christian he wants you to become, Amen

I rely on the Holy Spirit to discern the truth or falsity of a matter. The truth, myth or lie may take years to unfold. Sometimes we need to just let it alone since not enough time has elapsed for the truth, myth or lie to be known or even accepted. Case in point Senator Craig from Idaho. "A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways" the Bible tells us. Even though Craig pled guilty, he did not think he was. Only God knows for sure. As a Christian, I would do as most of the Senators on the Hill are doing - distance myself unless I knew for certain what the truth of the situation was. The arresting officer in that case seems pretty confident, Craig's witness (his daughter) had a warrant for her own arrest, and Craig has been in trouble before on sexual orientation issues. One can trust common sense and/or their gut, but poor Craig himself does not appear to have tapped into even his own, which is the case with a lot of folks.

Does it match the rest of the Bible?

For example: I can turn to any number of scriptures talking about man burning and say this is proof of a firey burning hell and many so-called Christians would pat me on the back in agreement. Is this really true???

I go to Jer. 7:31 where this really was happening. God said He never thought of such a thing.

Then in Eccles. 9:5,10 we find the Bible's view of the condition of the dead. They are unable to feel any pleasure or pain, have no thoughts at all nor able to do any work. What good would flaming torture do them?

Psalms 146:4 shows when anyone dies his thoughts do perish.

Clearly, though some point to a scripture to prove what they wish to be true of hellfire, the Bible says differently. That is how you prove what the truth is.

Myth is metaphor and it uses a metaphor to teach a spiritual psychological truth about the human experience. So myth is truth. Ignore the knowledge, the poetry and the lessons learned in 100,000 years of human experience at your own peril. Ignore who we were, what we are ,and how the human mind interprets symbols and you will live in a very, very, sad and dull machine world.

Faith is something I seek in my heart. If I feel something in my heart to be true then It must be true. If I find logic and reasoning later disprove it , then I might change my faith and what I believe to be true.

I am the worst kind of religious out there. I am a good guy fanatic. Peace and love to all is one of my main mottoes. If you can't handle that then it is the brainwashing hippyfying machine for you.
