If God created the angels, with NO free will, the angels have NO free will. They do what God says and thats the end of the story. They have no compacity to rebell, cause they have no free will.....

Then how did the Devil come to be?
He was an angel....who rebelled? But how did he do that when he had no free will???

I believe in god. I am a christian. Dont think I am not.
I just thought that was a little interesting.

The angels have free will, this is why Satan was able to make the choice that he did.

No where in the bible does it say that they do not.

The difference between angels and humans is that they do not carry a sinful nature. Humans are born into sin, having a sinful nature, because of the Adam and Eve's fall in the garden.

Angels never have the mix of good and bad found in humans. However, they were created with the ability and responsibility of self-determination. They can choose to leave the estate of heaven by an act of will. Or, they can choose to stay with God. Those who leave, do so in order to be gods. Satan is the "the god of this world" (2Corinthians 4:4).

Angels also do not have the hope of salvation and forgiveness if they do make the choice to sin and go agaist God. Humans can be redeemed (saved) from their sin, Angels can not.

The initial motivation of the rebellion of Satan and the other angels that followed is willful pride.

Isaiah 14:12-15 gives important insight into this matter. In this passage, Satan (as Lucifer) states five times, "I will." Especially revealing is his fifth declaration: "I will be like the most High" (Isaiah 14:14). He did not desire to submit to the will and glory of God, but rather wanted to be like God himself.

Satan's motivation is further revealed in his temptation of Adam and Eve in the Garden. He told them, "and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil" (Genesis 3:5). That is what moved him to rebel and that is what he used on Eve.

Satan was created (Ezekiel 28:13, 15). And at his creation, Satan was the model of perfection, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty (Ezekiel 28:12). He was in the garden of Eden and every precious stone adorned him (Ezekiel 28:13). He was anointed and ordained by God as a guardian cherub (Ezekiel 28:14), and was blameless in his ways (Ezekiel 28:15).

A guardian cherub was like the highest ranking angel.

As for the other angels that followed satan. Read in the Bible about Noah's flood. Read where the Nephilim are mentioned. The Nephilim were the offspring of the fallen angels and human women. The were before the flood and also after. Their spirit being could not be drown, though their physical bodies could. So, they were also in the earth after as once again, the had relations with the human women and more offspring. This is also why God orders many of the killings that seems cruel. Read about King Og, he was a giant. the giants were the offspring of the fallen angels. The family line was evil. Here, satan was still trying to interfere with the blood line in which Christ Jesus would be born. Corupt the human blood line so that none was pure for a Messiah to be born. His plan, of course, did not work. You see, God was trying to protect us. He wasn't cruel as many non believers try to make him out to be in the Old Testament. This though, is a whole other study.

I don't ever remember reading that the angels don't have free will. All intelligent beings have free will, whether angels or humans. The only difference is that all angels believe in God although not all accepted God. But within the human race not all humans believe in God. That is the consequences of free will. You can choose to believe or choose not to.

The Devil/Satan was a created archangel of God. He was a favorite of God. But the Devil's ego and wisdom got to the better of him . The devil felt that it was his rightful place to be above God and to sit at the throne of God. It was an exercise in free will that went astray. It was then at this point that rebellion broke out in heaven with a third of the angels being evicted from heaven.

First of all, the angels have never been defined. We have no evidence that they had no free will. What has been written about Satan is that he was once Lucifer (the name means Light) and he was a prominent arch angel like Michael and Gabriel. But he believed he was as powerful as God and challenged God. Rather a big 'no no' as spiritual things go. The Arch angel Michael, sometimes referred to as the captain of the angels, fought with Lucifer and defeated him, and God cast Lucifer, now Satan into Hell. To be reviled and hated by mankind forever. Satan has always sought to avenge himself and tempts man at every possible turn.
Hope this information helps.

The angels do have free will, where does it say in the bible angels do not have free will, doesn't the Apostle Paul mention somewhere that we will judge Angels. If they don't have free will, they would not need a judge. And yes I do believe you are a Christian and that was a good question. Thank you and may God Bless YOU!!

That's not true (angels with no free will). There is no scripture that I know of that declares that angels have no free will. From the fact of the fall of so many of them, they obviously have some form of self-determination.

However, their condition is not like that of man. Man can be redeemed from his fallen state by the applied blood of Jesus Christ. The fallen angels have no means by which they can return to their first estate after they leave it. They will all be cast into the "everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels" (Matthew 25:41).

Who told you the lie that angels have no free will? They do indeed. It's just that, having all the knowledge about whatever they decide, there is no excuse if they make a bad decision. Satan CHOSE to put himself above God. That CHOICE was the basis of the Rebellion.

It is apparent that the angels had a choice of actions because one third of the angelic host before God made the choice to follow after Lucifer becoming the fallen angels which are now known as Demons, who are used of Satan to deceive those who are rejecting Christ as their lLorrd and Savior, and their true agenda- to possess humans and to take them to their place of torments when they die..So demons also have the choice to stay in the body they possess until someone with the authority over them casts them out but if the person who is possessed of them refuses to surrender to the Lordship of Christ, the demons will not leave the one they inhabit...And Satan is not in hell now but after the tribulation period will be cast into the Bottomless Pit for 1000 years while Christ and his chosen will rule and reign..

Angels were given free will. Some chose to rebel, the rest wanted to serve and worship God.
