I mean, wouldn't that be getting close to blasphemy against the Holy Spirit - the unpardonable sin?

Is this why so many Christians still believe, even though it has been proven that the Piso (Sworn enemies of Julius Caesar) family wrote all of the Gospels and created the character Jesus and the religion of Christianity to regain control over the masses?

When it all comes out and it is finally proven conclusively that Christianity was just made up, will Christians be able to even comprehend it?

If not, is this a sign of deep brainwashing? If a Christian claims that Christianity is true and Jesus is true, just like gravity or their frienships with people are true - then does that mean that they're insane?

Er, Lucifer, that is. This is what I just read in response to a question about non-catholics calling Mormons non-Christians.

What say you?

how can you accept the idea that "god" created the world, the universe and all thing in it when the scriptures that tell this tale are only a couple thousand years old? or that there are so many other religions in the world when this god only want you to worship himself? also, if god did create everything and is also said to love all children, then why would he create a hell? or the devil? would this mean that god does not love all? or that even a god can make a mistake?

Okay, so I am 13, and I'm a Hindu. I was looking on some questions asked about and bashing Hinduism. It really really hurts me. I love my religion, and I promised myself I'd rather die than convert to another religion, having being a Catholic school student for 8 years. So why do they hate Hinduism? Hindus aren't Jihadists like the Muslims who KILL Hindus are. Any oppinions? Thanks and have a nice day!

I often wonder this. Could he have had a sense of humor? If you can't find an example of him having a sense of humor, is it possible that he didn't, and thus unless we take life to the extreme with seriousness, we can never really be like him?

I was taking this e-learning thingy at work and I there were questions somewhat as follows:

1. If an employee wears a cross on a neck, it should be:
a. it's okay to wear a cross to work
b. it's not okay to wear a cross to work

2. If an Islamic woman is wearing a religious clothing to work around her head, she should:
a. take if off
b. keep it on due to her religious regulations

I answered questions number one as "a" and it said 'wrong, a riliseous symbol such as a christian cross may offend someone at work or a customer alike",

so I answered to the second question "a", sinse religious symbolism is not allowed at work, and it said "wrong, racial descrimination is not allowed at work place, therefore an islamic woman can have her head covered at work in avoidance of descrimination towards her religious beliefs".

I was shocked. As far as I know, and what the History tells, America is known to be a Christian country. Also, would you ever see someone wear cross in Iraq?

What's your brief opinion on existence of historical Jesus?

And why do you think are there so many similarities between Jesus, Horus and other Sun gods, messiahs etc, of his time and time preceding the alleged birth of Jesus?

In Matthew 7, Jesus says that on the day of judgement when many stand before him, he will condemn to hell those who he 'never knew', even though those people did many miracles in his name, including casting out demons, prophesying, and doing many miracles in his name, he will do this because they 'practice lawlessness'. This word in Greek means 'anomia' which is the condition of being 'without the law', either because of being ignorant of it, or just because you know it and don't want to keep it. So, if you want to love Jesus, you have to keep his torah/law/commandments, and all of them. There are over 2000 commandments, not just 10! They are very beautiful and easy to keep. Besides the obvious lack of belief in gods.

I ask because I had answered a question earlier regarding if it were likely that I would convert to Theism if I was on my death bed and received a lot of thumbs down for saying that I was unsure, but it could happen. It was quite evident that there was a lot of disapproval to my answer as I hit 6 thumbs down in a matter of minutes.

Needless to say, I started wondering if people were at some level holding an expectation that I failed to meet as an Atheist.

Thank you for participating.

I was feeling rather angry this evening, had a good bit of the ol' "ultra-violence" welling up in me as Burgess would say, and I asked y'all for advice. You came through in spades. Problem was, many of your responses included glass-breaking, wall-punching, and other high decibel activity. No can do. Live in an apartment building. Have to be "courteous". Bleah.

Instead, I chose a random neighbor and hung him by his ankles outside the 40th floor of this 50 -story building. He didn't do anything; I don't even know the guy. I just knew that I didn't want to say anything mean to anyone I love, however much they piss me off, or ruin personal property. So I grabbed him, tied him up, and dangled him out there.

Well, now I have another dilemma. I can STILL hear him sobbing and pleading down here on the 5th floor. Should I let him in, or let him spend the morning there, put in some ear plugs and go to sleep? Tormenting the man was grand but I think I still have a wee bit of anger left in me.

his religion would have been all over the news, but he is Methodist and we heard nothing. You may respond by asking what religion has to do with it anyway, but it does, because if he were Mormon, again, that would have been all over the news. Thoughts?

I know other Christians will say judge not lest ye be judged, but the only way to Heaven is through Jesus.

Open your hearts. Stop being so vain. Swallow your pride and give yourself to Jesus.

Do you agree?

What are some of the statistical trends concerning Atheism, especially the percentage of young people who are Atheists compared to older people? Does anyone have a histogram or a distribution graph? How does this change between regions/countries? What are some projected estimates for numbers based on % of population? Thanks.
