In Matthew 7, Jesus says that on the day of judgement when many stand before him, he will condemn to hell those who he 'never knew', even though those people did many miracles in his name, including casting out demons, prophesying, and doing many miracles in his name, he will do this because they 'practice lawlessness'. This word in Greek means 'anomia' which is the condition of being 'without the law', either because of being ignorant of it, or just because you know it and don't want to keep it. So, if you want to love Jesus, you have to keep his torah/law/commandments, and all of them. There are over 2000 commandments, not just 10! They are very beautiful and easy to keep. wow, all them christians better stop eating pork and shellfish!

but seriously folks, it's ridiculous to think that jesus said you don't have to follow the torah. jesus preached nothing BUT the torah. what does it even mean to "fulfill a law"? how does that possibly obviate the law? that's absurd.

When Christ was asked what they had to do to make sure they go to heaven, Christ answer was very simple: To love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your might, and to love your neighbor as you love yourself. Beautiful in it's simplicity, yet extremely difficult to live. If we follow it, we can break no other commandment, or law. I also think Hell is far different than most think. I believe that when we cross over, we must watch and feel our entire time here on earth. We feel the pain we caused others, and the pain that pain created for those who love the person hurting, and so on like ripples in water. Think of Hitler, of mass murderers, mass rapists...etc. ..all that pain. Can you really think of a worse hell? It's not just pointless pain, and it does not last for all eternity. The only exception is when one needs to be destroyed when they are evil all the way through, and there is no chance of redemption as they do not want it. When the time is right, we can be reincarnated if we choose to learn more quickly. This hell teaches us how our actions affect others. There's no better way to teach us how badly we can behave, no matter how good our intentions are. Now there's a Hell worthy of a loving God.
Blessed Be, and may Peace be with you

Romans 10:4
"Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes."

Galatians 3:13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us.

Read the book of Acts and the book of Romans and learn how to study in context. Not to mention, Jesus was the fullfillment of the Law (Luke 24:44) . Thus, if one puts his faith and trust in Christ, then he is given eternal life (John 5:39-40).

No . please tell me where it is written in the scriptures. No Iv'e not read that in the Gospels, Acts, Letters, or Rev. Seriously, we can't keep the ceremonial law, feasts, sacrifices, etc I urge you to read Eph. 2:12-15, the WHOLE of Hebrews, in fact prayerfully read & study the whole N.T. You see we are not free to sin, law or not. Was it not even before Moses? NO. I must have the scriptures only, sorry, yet not.

Here's the verse in Matt 7 you are interpreting, HaShem's Servant:

"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

This verse refutes the false doctrine that people can be saved by faith alone. You've got to do good works. Those works are explicated more fully in Matthew 25:

"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'

"They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'

"He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'

"Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

They are works of charity and mercy, not following the minutiae of Torah observance. Jesus had many run-ins with Pharisees who raked him over the coals for eating with sinners and healing on the Sabbath.

Cheers,
Bruce

Salaam.

"Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven; but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."

"For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven."
[The Bible, Mathew 5:17-20]

"And behold, one came and said unto him, ‘Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?’

And he said unto him, ‘Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.’ "
[The Bible, Mathew 19:16-17]

Well if christians are those who follow the teaching of Jesus, I believe we Muslims are more Christians then the christians themselves.

because we follow what Jesus said. We believe he is one of the mightiest messenger of God.

"Shama Israelu Adonai Ila Hayno Adna Ikhad".
It is a Hebrew quotation which means:
"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord"
[The Bible, Deuteronomy 6:4]

May GOD BLESS US ALL

SALAM

No. Those who reject him as their Lord and Saviour to the end will be condemned to hell.

Want to know something sweetheart? Paul states that those who keep the law in addition to faith in Christ will be condemned (Galatians 1:8-9). Works-salvation is one the worst heresies.

Servant:

Yeshua said: "Moses told you... BUT I say..."

Look it up. Yeshua did not come to reiterate the Torah.

He replaced the Torah, with a new law written on the heart.
Jeremiah 31:31

He replaced the temple with his own body.

He replace the covenant of lambs blood to a covenant in his own blood.

Yeshua fuliflled Torah. If you are not following his appointed messengers and the revelation they taught, you have missed Messiah.

If Jesus said he would condemn to hell those who dont keep the Torah, then he was lying. First of all, Jews don't have "hell", and never have. It's a Zoroastrian invention, picked up and adopted by the early Christians after the Jews left. Judaism never adopted this concept.

Secondly, if Jesus said that, again he is lying, because non-Jews were never required ACCORDING TO GOD, to keep the law except the 7 Universal Noahide Laws.
1. Do not steal
2. Do not murder
3. Do not commit idolatry
4. Do not curse God
5. Do not commit adultery
6. Do not tear the limb from a living animal to eat it (this law is a prohibition on animal cruelty, apparently this was done back then)
7. Do establish courts of law to uphold these laws, and to have a fair, just, compassionate society.

As for miracles, God gave the criteria by which to judge the true Messiah - and miracles don't count. Even the Egyptians could do magic and miracles such as resurrecting the dead, turning water into wine, etc. So if Jesus is going to condemn others for doing that and say he never knew them for that, then he should look in the mirror.

There are not more than 2000 commandments, there are 613. And the Jews are obligated to keep them - and not to "save our souls", either. We don't even have such a concept as that - regardless that the Church teaches that we do "works to be saved". That's total crap.

We do them because they are ways of living that bring the essence of God into the world to make a peaceful, compassionate, fair and just society between our fellow mankind, and between mankind and God.

Furthermore, by trying to keep commandments that were NOT given to you as a non-Jew, you are doing them incorrectly, which means that you are actually profaning them, not performing them. Which means that you are blemishing your soul, and the Torah says that it is better such a person had never been born.

So, stick with what GOD gave for the non-Jews on Mt. Sinai, and stop trying to act like Jews, because you aren't, and you don't need to be. You have your merit for a place in the World To Come, according to God, by following the 7 Universal Noahide Laws. These make you righteous, according to God.

And for those Christians who say "Jesus freed us from the law" - no, he didn't. Why? Because you CANNOT be freed from something you were NEVER under, can you. It never applied to you, therefore there is nothing to free you FROM.
The only laws that ever applied to non-Jews are the 7 Noahide Laws, and those STILL apply to non-Jews. Do not murder - go on out and try breaking that one if you think Jesus freed you from it. As well as the others.

And human virgin blood sacrifice for sin has never been the role of the Messiah. If the man claiming to be the Messiah dies before he completes and fulfills ALL of the prophecies, then he was clearly not the Messiah, now was he. There is no such thing as a "second coming" in Judaism - the early Church invented that when Jesus didn't come back in his disciple's generation, as he said he would in the new testament. There has never existed such a concept as a second coming anywhere but in the church, and it has no meaning whatsoever for the real Messiah.

Knock it off with the "Shalom" crap when you're desecrating our Torah, would you? We find that extremely offensive. You have no idea what you're doing, and you're doing it all wrong, and you're putting your own soul in danger because of what you're doing, and you want to say "Shalom"?? Nope. Doesn't fly. Go and keep the 7 Noahide Laws as God Himself said on Mt. Sinai that you are to keep, as a non-Jew, these are your path to the World To Come. Period. No others.

EDIT: TO Doug, the answerer below me: The lie that the church has taught for so long that the Jews "couldn't keep all the law" and so because of that we lose our salvation, it a total crock. It's a lie. You've been lied to.

First of all, we don't keep the commandments in order to have "salvation". We don't even have such a concept. We keep the laws that apply to each of us, according to our gender, occupation, etc. because these laws, just like any culture or society's laws, create a society in which mankind is kind and compassionate, fair and just, between each other and between mankind and God. Period. That is the ONLY reason we keep the laws that apply to each of us - and it has always been that way.

We do not have now, nor has Judaism ever had the concept of having to keep the law for our "salvation". That is a church invention, and a lie.

Secondly, NOBODY had to keep all the laws. Ever. There are laws applying to males, laws applying to females, laws applying to priests, laws applying to farmers, laws applying to shephards, laws applying to just about every profession that existed, there are age-appropriate laws, etc.

A male wouldn't keep laws applying to females, nor vise versa. A farmer wouldn't keep laws applying to the judges in the Sanhedrin (the court), etc. etc. etc.

Just like today you yourself wouldn't keep the laws and statutes applying to a policeman unless you ARE a policeman. Or the laws and statues applying to a teacher, unless you ARE a teacher.

That's all it is. That's all it's EVER been. There is nothing about salvation involved in it whatsoever. Unless you believe that in societies, everyone should have to keep ALL the laws pertaining to themselves AND everyone else - do you see how ridiculous this is?

In other words, you've been lied to. We were never to keep all the laws or "lose our salvation" - as I said, Judaism has never, ever even had such a concept. It's a church invention, part of their replacement theology in which they lie about the previous religion in order to demonize it for the followers of their new religion.
