I want to improve my relationship with God, but everytime I have a question, the pastor's I have asked just answer it without really answering it ya know? He did that because God is love, God is love, thats why that law is that way. Basically God is love is the only answer they ever give me. I know that, thats not what I'm asking. So what can I do? I read the answers in the bible but it doesn't tell me what I really want to know about it. I know you can't answer every question, but really. It just makes me feel like they have no clue what they're talking about. Can anyone give me some advice on how to go about this since religious figures seem pretty much useless?

Often when I worry something won't pan out the way it is supposed to, my fiance will tell me not to worry so much, and to have "faith".

Do you think he really just means be optimistic?

I just recently asked a question with the title :
"Can Christians say Buddhist prayers"?
http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjWr.Go0QZ3l2JR3Ql441g7AFQx.?qid=20070906115127AArYVFm

And one of the Christians who answered states that not all beings are equal.
Hence you cannot ( if your Christian ) say a prayer that says all and everything is equal.

Is this true, that according to the God of the Bible not all things are equal?

- If so, why ever aren't they?

Will you repent of your sin against God's commandment?

I see many people lying about what the Catholic Church teaches, believes and practices on here. Obviously they know that what they say are lies but continue to perpetrate these lies. The Bible teaches that this is bearing false witness as well and is against the commandments of God.

Can you feel justified by claiming ignorance or being blinded by hatred or prejudice. What will be your defense before the throne of God when every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess?

You must know that your man-made churches do not have the promises of Christ nor the authority given by Christ to His Church yet you have no fear of the almighty God who created the Church which you protest so falsely. Will your only defense be a dependence on His mercy and do you really think that your ignorance will save you from His judgement?

THE 9th COMMANDMENT
Exodus 20:16 "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour."

im not that religious but why do all the atheists put the same amount of faith in science that christians put in God. scientists always think they have things figured out, and then they prove themselves wrong later and come out with the next scientific fact. a few hundred years ago science knew the world was flat, and the sun revolved around the earth. what will they know for sure 100 years from now that disproves what they know for sure today. it all takes faith, religion or not. not to say science shouldnt look for answers, but if you put your faith in science it has proven throughout time that it will fail

The "full" quote, according to the NASB translation of the Bible, reads (Jesus speaking):

"Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man's enemies will be the members of his household. He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it." (Matthew 10:34-39 NASB)

from a logical point of view that is completely impossible since by loving "your enemy" he cant be called your enemy, since an enemy is by definition someone you dont really love (you will be his enemy but not the other way round)...so how come an infallible god asks anyone to do something that is not possible?

And you're tired of crying?

Is it better to kill some things/people over others? Does age matter? Race? Religion? Sex? Motion?

And, yes, I know my anger is simply misplaced hurt, even though it is justified. Thing is, I am NOT in the mood to play therapist with it. I'm fine, I'll be fine, don't worry. I just wanna kill something. What should I kill?

Gimme somethin' to kill.

Now.

(And for you lifeless morons who say yourself, go f*ck with someone else. Irony is not your strong point so you may want to skip Jokes & Riddles too).

I asked my old man a while ago about who he thought Jesus Christ really was and he didn't seem to quite know the answer.

He said to me, "Wasn't he that joker who walked through the desert with a cross tattooed on his back?"

I'd be quite interested to learn about what you think on this matter. Was my father right or was Jesus really somebody who had an important connection to God who had come along to save every member of mankind from themselves and each other so that everyone might have a chance at everlasting life?

Isnt rapture a very metaphorical way of saying: yer gonna die while youre in your physical body and then youre gonna change dimensions and go to heaven with your new dimensional body?

As we all know, your physical world is not where heaven is anymore?

Is heaven on another planet according to Christianity?

According to Christianity…

Biblegod chooses to have a child born into an abusive, violent and hellish home with parents that are Christian (Yes, I know not all Christian homes are this way but a significant number are). As the child grows they accumulate many scars (physical, emotional, mental and spiritual) at the hands of their Christian parents. Finally the child leaves home and hopefully through a lot of counseling they free themselves, at least to limited degree, from the hell they grew up in. As part of the freeing process they reject the ideologies of their parents including the Christianity. And at the end of their life Biblegod, in all his righteousness and holiness, will be glorified by torturing this person forever in hell because they rejected Christianity.
