According to Christianity…

Biblegod chooses to have a child born into an abusive, violent and hellish home with parents that are Christian (Yes, I know not all Christian homes are this way but a significant number are). As the child grows they accumulate many scars (physical, emotional, mental and spiritual) at the hands of their Christian parents. Finally the child leaves home and hopefully through a lot of counseling they free themselves, at least to limited degree, from the hell they grew up in. As part of the freeing process they reject the ideologies of their parents including the Christianity. And at the end of their life Biblegod, in all his righteousness and holiness, will be glorified by torturing this person forever in hell because they rejected Christianity.

Ding, ding!

You have won the grand prize for "Explaining The Biblical God In One Brief Paragraph"!

That is indeed what the Bible tells us. Many Christians will say "Well, why spurn Christianity? It isn't GOD's fault that you were born to abusive parents!"

To which you may say: "I thought God created me and knew exactly where and with whom I would end up."

And they'll say "Even though God is OMNISCIENT he doesn't premeditate anything- he gives us "free will' to decide if we want to join him in heaven or not!"

You: "Where was that free will when it came to the family I was born into?"

Them: "Well, you can't choose THAT, we all have our lot in life! Look at Job, tortured and humiliated to prove to SATAN that God could win a bet! But you can CHOOSE to be with God in heaven where there are no more abusive parents. If your parents were abusive, then they weren't TRUE Christians."

You: "What the heck is a true Christian? And why would God need to prove anything to the devil? Wouldn't the "omniscient" god know that he'd be playing right into Satan's hands by allowing one man to go through such torment?"

Them: "You're selfish! Ask not what God can do for you! He sent his only son to die the cruelest and most horrific death, like, EVER, for you!"

You: "But, but... you mentioned Job..."

Them: "Satan tortured Job!"

You: "But back to my story..."

Them: "You either love God or you hate him! And if you hate him you will burn eternally in hell!"

You: "But my life on earth has been hell!"

Them: "Yes, but it'll be MUCH worse down there!"

You: *Sigh*

That about sums it up. Thing is though, many of those kids never break free from the ideologies and they carry it on to the next generation either because they do not get the counseling they need or they just give up and submit to the dogma. It takes someone with a lot of backbone and strength of character to walk away and reject the abuse and not become a carrier of it.

Grim Jack.. you forgot the part where they send you to a Christian school where you are beaten with a cane for trying to ask why the man up the road keeps pluggin holes in your backside... and caned again when you try to ask why this God they speak of doesn't do anything about it...

Remember that no matter what we went through as a child we have the CHOICE of becoming who we are. Everything that happens to us makes us stronger as a person. Everyone is given a choice in life its up to us which road to take.
