I am always seeing statistics being given in this forum
but can I ask ... has anyone actually taken part in any type of statistic survey
the reason I ask tonight is because Bad Liberal ( I think it was ) gave statistics on masterbation ...
seriously though where do they get this information ? lol

Most statistics are pulled out of the writer's *** but yes, a few times, I have been a statistic...usually I defy the average of my area, ethnicity, age, educational level and IQ...I am a weirdo so don't get counted even when someone asks...in the US they will call you on the phone and want to ask questions...also, put ads in the paper for volunteers...I'd rather be an extra in a movie, that is more fun...

Having taken a number of university level statistics courses, I would tend to question any statistical results posted anywhere. There are so many vairables that for the most part, statistics are irrelevant in serving as an accurate predictor of much of anything.

I'm a statistician and I know all the ins and outs of doing the work correctly. I'd say that 95% of all polls are done wrong and 99% of data is report incorrectly. Now, do you believe that this answer falls into those values or not?

You'd be surprised what kind of information people will volunteer when anonymity is involved. I've taken a couple surveys in which information was asked that I would tell my most closest of friends.

From the top 10 most visited, 5 are about homosexuality. None is about wars, famines, diseases or how to achieve world peace. Arguments against homosexuality, "ex-homosexuals" and some other crap about the "many health risks" associated with it. Gosh, these people are ******* superficial....Really? Homosexuality is half of the world's problems? Damn, I didn't know that "curing" me is more important than feeding the starving kids in Africa. PS: And goats? What the hell?

I`m not really sure; as an example of my unsureness, I was once walking a narrow cliff path with no room for two people to pass. Then I saw a beautiful naked young blonde coming towards me.
I didn`t know whether to block her passage, or toss myself off.

One of my favorite sayings is
"There are lies, damn lies, and statistics"

Attributed in various places to Benjamin Disraeli or to Mark Twain.
Oops ICToA already shared that.
