I asked my old man a while ago about who he thought Jesus Christ really was and he didn't seem to quite know the answer.

He said to me, "Wasn't he that joker who walked through the desert with a cross tattooed on his back?"

I'd be quite interested to learn about what you think on this matter. Was my father right or was Jesus really somebody who had an important connection to God who had come along to save every member of mankind from themselves and each other so that everyone might have a chance at everlasting life?

If He is God, you can talk to Him yourself.

John 15: 1"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
5"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. 8This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

9"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. 11I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. 14You are my friends if you do what I command. 15I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 17This is my command: Love each other.
18"If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. 20Remember the words I spoke to you: 'No servant is greater than his master.'[b] If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. 21They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the One who sent me. 22If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin. 23He who hates me hates my Father as well. 24If I had not done among them what no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen these miracles, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. 25But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: 'They hated me without reason.'[c]
26"When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me. 27And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning.

In John 3:16. The Bible says," For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." The Son he speaks of is Jesus.

God demanded a pure and perfect sacrifice for all the sins of mankind. Jesus, His son was the only one perfect enough to pay this price. He did not have a cross tattooed on His back, although He was forced to carry His own cross to His place of Crucifixion.

Giving your heart to God, through Jesus is the most important step of your life. He made it simple, so that even little children could accept Christ. Pray to God, telling Him that you know you are a sinner and that you want to be saved. Confess all your sins to Him, that you can remember. Then ask Him to allow Jesus Christ to come into your heart and save you.

Upon doing this, I think it is very important to unite yourself with a local Bible believing church, where you can grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord. God Bless You.

The man called Jesus was the Son of God. He was "The Word made flesh and dwelt among us." God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit are all one. Jesus is God in the flesh.

He was not a "joker". The cross was a real cross and He was nailed to it. When He was nailed to that Cross, He literally became you and me. He became our substitute. He took on all our sins so that we could spend eternity with Him in heaven.

Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. He is the only way to God.

The Bible says that "ye must be born again." What does that mean? It means you that you are spiritually dead without Him. When you say, "Jesus, I believe you died for me. I ask you to forgive me of my sins and cleanse my heart and renew a right spirit. Come into my heart and be my Lord." When you say that prayer or one similar to it you become "born again."

When you are born again the bible says that you are a new person. "If any man be in Christ he is a new creature, old things have passed away, behold all things have become new."

No disprespect, but your father was wrong. Jesus is the Lord and He wants you to love Him and be in His presence. Want you please consider it?

you answered the question for yourself knightrider - The last part of what you said is very very true. have you ever seen the passions of the chirst ? how can something like that be imagined or thought up unless it was documented (bible) and really happened ? God the father created all things ! Jesus is reffered to as the son because he was made OF God. For example you are made Of your Mother so you are her Son. Likewise with jesus chirst - but here is the part that allot of people dont understand Jesus Christ, The Holy Spirit, and God - are ONE. how can this be ???!!! well say you have a sister, that makes you her brother, and you have a mother, that makes you her son, you also have an aunt, that makes you her nephew. Brother, Son, Nephew - But you are one person am i right ? Same with God, he in all his glory put on flesh and came through this virgin called mary - why ? because he could then prove that he knew what it was like to be human, and he knows what its like when we feel angry or depressed etc. The relationship is supernatural. The holyspirit is the part of God that is left with us, unless you recieve this part of him then you cannot make it to heaven. So those who do not recieve the holyspirit will be "none of his" aka "depart from me i know you not" (bible) you can email me to get more info. ask God into your heart he wants to be there, thats why he died on the cross - so that we might have life. ♥

My own personal belief is that Jesus was simply the body that Christ used, with the permission of Jesus, in order to carry God's true message to us. I don't believe that Jesus and Christ are one in the same spirit. Also S/he wanted to experience the condition of human beings. The message God wanted to have us all know boiled down to one most important commandment: "To love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your might, and to love your neighbor as you love yourself." If I live this commandment I can break no other.
Peace

Greetings,
Know Jesus
He is "the stone you builders rejected, which has become the capstone. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." Acts : 11-12

Jesus is God himself - Deity of Christ

As we turn the pages of the Bible we are convinced undoubtedly with the deity of Christ. He is the God who came in the form of a man as son of Mary, in the reign of Augusts Caesar the Roman Emperor. Thus, the Bible speaks about it.

1.

God appeared in a body. - 1Tim.3:16 / Jn.1:18
2.

He is the God over all. - Rom.9:5
3.

He is the creator of all things. - Col.1:16 & 17
4.

In Him the fullness of the deity lives in bodily form. - Col.2:9
5.

He is the exact representation of God's being. - Heb.1:3
6.

He is the true God and Eternal Life. - 1.Jn.5:20
7.

He is our great God and Saviour. - Titus.2:13
8.

He is the Alpha and Omega. - Rev.1:17 / Rev22:13
9.

Father God calls him God. - Heb.1:8
10.

He is worthy of all worship, power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory and praise. - Rev.5:12-14
11.

The Word which was God became flesh. - Jn.1:1 &14
12.

He is Immanuel - God with us. - Mat.1:23
13.

He is Jehovah. - Jn.8:24
14.

He sits on the throne of God. Rev.3:21
15.

He is the Sovereign Lord. - 2Pet.2.1 / Jude.4
16.

He has the authority of forgive sins. - Mk.2:5 & 10
17.

Jesus is seen by prophet Isaiah in the throne of God. Jn12:41
18.

Jesus is seen by Daniel as God. - Daniel.7:13 & 14
19.

He is the Ancient of Days. - Micah. 5:2 / Mat.2:4-6
20.

He is the Holy One. - Rev. 3:7 / Isa.43:14
21.

He is Mighty God, Everlasting Father. - Isa.9:6

Jesus is our Saviour

"She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins." - Mat.1:21

Every human being needs a saviour and God offers only Jesus for the remission of sins and for eternal life (Jn.3:16). Jesus took the sins of the whole world on His body to satisfy the justice of God, lavish the love of God and made himself a sacrifice of atonement by shedding His Blood, which contains eternal life on the cross. God made Him (Jesus) who new no sin to be sin for us so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God (2Cor.5:21). Thus, through His sacrificial death and resurrection, salvation and eternal life is available freely to all who believe and acknowledge this truth (Rom.10:9 / Eph.2:8).

He is the Lord & Messiah (Christ)

"Today in the town of David a saviour has been born to you; He is Messiah the Lord." - Lk.2:11

The word Messiah means the Anointed one. His office is to preach the gospel, to comfort the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives, to release the prisoners from darkness, to proclaim to those who mourn that the year of the Lord's favour has come and with it, the day of God's anger against their enemies. He will give beauty for ashes, joy instead of mourning, praise instead of despair to all who mourn (Isa.61:1-4). The Israelites awaited the arrival of the Messiah, their Saviour from heaven (Jn.4:25). This has been fulfilled through Jesus (Lk.4:21). This Messiah is Jesus (Jn4:26).

He is the Judge

"For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son..." - Jn.5:22

A day will come when all mankind has to stand before the judgment seat of God. God the father has appointed Jesus as the judge of all and given Him all authority to judge (Acts,17:31). The is no condemnation for those who believe only in Him and and live on His word (Rom.8:1). Every act of man will be judged by God's impartial justice which is revealed in the scripture(1 Pet.1:17).
Are you ready? The Judge is coming!

Jesus was a man who got caught up in his family's pressure to be significant.

He then got caught up in his generation's pressure to be religiously relevant.

Finally, he got caught up in the political pressures of his time and was killed.
