Will you repent of your sin against God's commandment?
I see many people lying about what the Catholic Church teaches, believes and practices on here. Obviously they know that what they say are lies but continue to perpetrate these lies. The Bible teaches that this is bearing false witness as well and is against the commandments of God.
Can you feel justified by claiming ignorance or being blinded by hatred or prejudice. What will be your defense before the throne of God when every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess?
You must know that your man-made churches do not have the promises of Christ nor the authority given by Christ to His Church yet you have no fear of the almighty God who created the Church which you protest so falsely. Will your only defense be a dependence on His mercy and do you really think that your ignorance will save you from His judgement?
THE 9th COMMANDMENT
Exodus 20:16 "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour."

AJ,
Actually that is a lie as there are fewer Catholic priests that atre guilty of this than any other clergy or even school teachers for that matter. It is much more common among Protestant clergy than Catholic priests. The Southern Baptists claim that it is 15 times more common among their clergy. so you are condemning the Catholic Church based on prejudicial information when the truth is that Catholic clergy are the least likely to committ a sexual offense than any clergy. Do you wish to repent?

Minister of Sound,
It sounds from your post that your defense before the throne of God will be ignorance and that God's mercy will save you. do you realize that you are betting your eternity on this claim of ignorance. I am telling you that what you profess is a lie. Therefore in truth you have no defense. Do you wish to repent of your lies and hatred for Christ's Church?

Catholic Gal,
Your charity towards these people is commendable. However, when they keep repeating the same lies and post websites with the most preposterous accusations without any support one must come to the conclusion that they are either intellectually incapable of understanding or that their misunderstanding is intentional.
As for being a Bible thumping preacher, as a Protestant convert I sometimes resemble that accusation and will point out the teaching of Scriptures to encourage sinners to repent as that is my calling. However I do admit that my tolerance for ignorance is very low but I believe I do balance it with my charity and love. In any case, thank you for your prayers and for those lost in hatred for Christ's Church.

Let us all agree together to pray that those who are blinded by hatred will repent. May God bless us all with a life of joyful repentence and trust in our Savior and Head.

My brother ... this is a bold rebuke, and as such I can find no fault in its intent. But I must agree with drew, above, that by using such a broad brush you are doing more harm than good.
Your target audience, for lack of a better term, may not even be in Protestant denominations but rather of anabaptist or pentacostal origin. At that, much of present-day anti-Catholic rhetoric -- the intentional, willful distortion and misrepresentation of Church doctrine of which you speak -- can rarely be ascribed to even a particular sect in blanket fashion; therefore you cannot so easily call out those who do this without also unnecessarily antagonizing those of our separated brethren who do not.
Rather than mounting a soapbox and raining recriminations on all, seek out the deceivers and confront them directly. They are easily found here, but are unlikely to come to you; you must go to them.
Pax tecum.

Hey, I know, it's hard to put up with how much the Protestants get wrong about our religion. But I have honestly found that most of them are honestly confused about what we believe. Let's try to be charitable and point out their misunderstanding of our religion without yelling at them. You sound like a bible thumpin' preacher with that "do you repent?" thing! LOL
God bless you. I'll pray for you tonight, and also all the people who are confused about what the Catholic Church teaches.

I must say that you are very passionate about your faith and this is a wonderful thing, as long as passion does not lead to vice and anger.
Christ did found the Church, it is the one, true, apostolic Church and there is no doubting that.
Those who claim there churches or halls, are true because they don't follow doctrine but yet are Scripture based are lying to themselves, since the Bible was written following doctrine, and doctrine exists in all churches, big or small, since its nothing more than an answer to a question that arises from faith. Their stating that they are Scripture based is doctrine in itself, so they live a fallicy.
I thank you for your candor and for spreading the truth of the Church, reading some of the reponses, which I expected once I started to read your statement, brings light to the ignorance on one part of those who say they are Christian, by the mere seperation of stating Catholics and Christians, demonstrated that, and also those who continuosly spread the fallicy that we worship Mary and others in the place of God. But Ignorance is the lack of knowledge, stupidity is the acquisition of knowledge and then not incorporating it, and many here do not deserve to be included with the ignorant, they have been exposed to truth and have left, more than likely due to selfish reasons, Luther was one who did this, King Henry, Calvin, etc... all had their own agenda.
It is funny how people criticize the newer religions like Mormonism and Jehova's Witnesses on here, becuase of who founded them and yet don't bother to look back on the reasons most Christians seperated from the mother Church.
History is bad for all, there has been atrocities performed by all, but no one dares look into their past, because they are taught only the negative past of Catholicism to justify their new founded faith. They don't even bother telling the truth or the good.
I remember one day our Pastor stated that he admired the Jehova's witnesses for their evangelization, how they went door to door, spreading what they believe to be true. Well guess what, that started a movement in our parish family to do the same.
You can gain from all who serve God, truly serve God, and learn from the mistakes of those who try, but don't fall into the trappings of those who with hate spread lies, because then you too become enraged and then the grace of God, His Gospel is lost.
God speed and blessings on you and yours always.

To minister of sound-ness --
First you stated, "Your arrogant statement about protestant churches being man-made"
Then your very next sentence said, "The start of protestantism was because Luther first found..."
So are you saying that Luther was not a man?

father-
i just stood up for the catholic practice of confession and absolution the other day, in a question that you, too, answered. when i first converted, i nearly joined the rcc. i had a few differences, and now, here i am, a confessional lutheran who stands up against anti-catholic slander. please don't assume that a few fundamentalist crazies represent the whole lot of us protestants, and please don't fuel the fire.
peace.
