I just recently asked a question with the title :
"Can Christians say Buddhist prayers"?
http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjWr.Go0QZ3l2JR3Ql441g7AFQx.?qid=20070906115127AArYVFm

And one of the Christians who answered states that not all beings are equal.
Hence you cannot ( if your Christian ) say a prayer that says all and everything is equal.

Is this true, that according to the God of the Bible not all things are equal?

- If so, why ever aren't they?

Hi, Bo. The idea that all people are equal comes from Christianity. For example, Paul wrote in Galatians 3:28, "There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

However, it is not true that all BEINGS are equal. If so, man would be worth no more than a squirrel, or a cockroach, or a dandelion. Jesus, who shared in the Creation, said, "So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows" (Matthew 10:31).

The problem with Buddhist prayers is that they are directed to a pantheistic god who is identical to God's creation, rather than to the real God. This would involve praying to mud, and tsetse flies, and al Qaida, all of which are part of creation.

Cheers,
Bruce

1. Many more individuals are born than can possibly survive, thus there is competition for limited resources

2. Within this vast number there is variation, and because of this variation some of these individuals will have an advantage--however slight--over others

3. The ones who have the advantages are more competitive and thus they are more likely to obtain the limited resources

4. The ones who are succeeding in securing the limited resources are more likely to reproduce and thus pass onto their offspring the more competitive traits

No, whoever said that to you is wrong. But the Bible does say it in a different way to the way Buddhists say it. I'll just go and look it up... (hang on).

Here it is:

The Bible says it like this "God is no respecter of persons."

It means he judges people according to their actions and their intentions... not based on favoritism. It also means he offers the same blessings to everyone, upon the same conditions. He doesn't change his rules for anyone... (but we humans are not qualified to know all of his rules... so we don't judge each other).

See it in context, if you wish:

Acts 10: 34 - http://scriptures.lds.org/en/acts/10/34#34

Let me answer your question by posing another. Grizzly bears die of cancer. Why do humans not support at the same level cancer research for humans and bears?

Not because bears are not to be valued. Bears are valuable to humans; but they are not valued to the same extent and to the same degree as humans. Bears and humans are in this sense not equal. Most of us have little problem with this.

So, yes, not all beings are equal. There is an ordering to our values and to the object of those values.

All beings are equal in the eyes of God. All religions and beliefs may not be. But that is up to God to decide.

Jesus said, “Matthew, dedicate your whole future life service to showing all men that God is no respecter of persons; that, in the sight of God and in the fellowship of the kingdom, all men are equal, all believers are the sons of God.”

The ten commandments won't let us pray to other gods. To a Christian, a prayer is invoking God's intercession or thanking Him for something, therefore it's only permissible to pray to the one true God.
