To become a Top Contributor, you must answer at least 50 questions in one particular Y!A category within 30 days and receive Best Answers on at least 10% of those answers. Also, your qualifications for being a Top Contributor are always being evaluated in the background, so keep up your efforts because even when you get the badge, it's possible to lose it if you no longer qualify.

You answer and answer and answer and answer in one category over and over and over again, and you vote and you vote and you vote for best answer and you accumulate useless points that one day you won't even be able to trade in for a gumball and you wait and you wait and you wait and then, soon enough, you get a Top Contributor badge in that category. I think you need around 500 points - not sure. Wanna buy mine? ;-)
Of course, this question is against the Nazi-era "community guidelines" so they'll probably delete you long before you see one. Give you mine for 5 bucks. I like you, kid. You got potential. Anyone else and it would have been a tenner.

It has to do with answering a lot of questions in a particular catergory, consistantly.
I use to have one, and then my computer goofed up for a few weeks so I didn't get to spend much time on here and "THEY" took it away *sobs inconsolably*.
I've been on here answering quite a few questions but it still hasn't come back :`(

It's a bit of a mystery to me. Personally, I think there is some kind of stalker that is busy following people around with TC sprinkles.
I don't think there are any particular rules... it's prolly being re-considered with respect to me as I type.

I think you just give lots of answers in one category. You may need to get a certain percentage of "Best Answers" in the area, as well, as they say you are "knowledgeable" in that area.

mine just poped up like magic one day. I went away for 10 days it still didn't go away. not sure how it got there or why it won't go away.
