Horus was the sun god of Egypt. He was born on December 25 to a virgin mother, at the age of 12 he was a prodogy and a teacher, at 30 he was baptised and began his minostry, He had 12 disiples who followed him. Horus died and was resurected.
This story is almost identical to that of Jesus and many other gods. almost everything in the bible is taken from older texts and there is no proof that Jesus or anyone he knew ever existed
So why do so many people belive in the basless religion.

I've come to a realization in my life; What I think is right doesn't ultimately matter. In my quest to try and get Theist's to see my point of view I became antagonistic, willing to pounce on people and cut their ideas and beliefs to shreds, and take joy in doing so. Somewhere along the way I lost sight of my own moral compass, and I went astray. I used to tell myself that I could never have religion because I couldn't bring myself to condemn anothers beliefs, yet I found myself doing precisely that. I am now waking up to idea that my condemnation (and others, be they atheist or theist) only helps to harden hearts, not to open them. Ultimately, No one truly knows what happens when we die, only time will tell. I hope humanity isn't permanently lost to its own petty insecurities, that we all wake up one morning and look at our neighbors, so foreign yet so familiar, and just see their humanity and not their beliefs, color, status, etc. Until that bright day when we learn to let go....

There are Churches everywhere, there are Christian book stores that sell Bibles everywhere for a fraction of the cost.
There is No reason for people to be so God ignorant when all you have to do is attend a church that preaches the gospel of Christ or buy yourself a King James Bible and read it. You will soon learn who God is if you wish to educate yourself on Him. There is a God, there is a devil. There is a Heaven, there is a hell, and you Will spend eternity in one or the other like it or not, believe it or not makes no difference. You Will one day stand before the Great White Throne of God and give an account of your life. There will be No time to kneel and pray asking for salvation and forgiveness, there will be No excuses that will stand. Be ever ready for that day, and know where you will spend eternity. Accept that Christ is Lord, died for your sins, rose again and is coming back to take His saints to be with Him in Paradise For ever and ever (eternity).

Duh! ut's something logical, they have the same creator... and we have the same creator so we are all borthers and sisters. ah, and yeah I'm a Mormon and I do not accept bashing!

Satan is Jesus' brother, but that doesn't mean that other than that fact they have thing in common and stuff. Jesus and Satan are very very very different, it's just that they have the same creator.. yup! the same one who created us, God.

When I hit a towering shot with my pitching wedge, 130 yards straight to the hole, and my gleaming white ball is juxtaposed against the gray and cloudy sky, does God find it as heart-wrenchingly beautiful as I do?

Why is their skin color so dark? Are they closer in relation to monkeys than whites are? Are they less evolved?

I do not believe in the Evolutionary Theory, I believe in Creation. I just want to know what you Evolutionists believe. I am not a racist and I believe diversity is a gift from God.

God thinks so......Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. (Ephesians 6:5 NLT)

For the record I'm not christian because of things like this in the bible!!

And I don't believe in a god that needs blood to make it all okay...the blood of christ.....nor do I believe a perfect god could or would burn people forever....thats just sick...

You hear things like how could you not believe in miracles if you saw one before your eyes but then if you've never seen a miracle, it doesn't matter. You still have to believe in miracles.

And I don't see how the person who CAN'T give up his faith and become a Christian is in a different position from the person who CAN'T give up his faith and not be a Christian anuymore.

For the last couple of years there seem to be SO MANY major national disasters. Ohio is underwater, fires burning CONSTANTLy everywhere. The one in California has been burning for like a month. A Hurricane just devastated a part of Mexico, Katrina wasn't too long ago, and again SO MANY fires and even more hurricanes.
And let's not forget about the terrible tornados of which more than I can think of right now have ripped through our country recently.

Isn't this a HUG upswing from what we used to have as of about 6 years and more ago?

This is not a flame, a troll, or revenge. Also, people of any religion, don't flame on other people's religions when answering my question please, have respect.
Now, onto the question, I haven't read the big bang theory, but i have heard a summary of it, and basically, earth and the rest of our solar system was created from the debri of a big bang, or exploding star (i think), and i dunno, somehow created earth. Anyways, in the making of earth bacteria forms and evolves and whatnot, and eventually after who knows how long makes ancient primeval life.
But my question is, where did the water come from? I mean, water is, in my opinion the perfect element for earth. It perfectly fits the temperature of earth, to create a never ending cycle. This, in my opinion is why i think that there is a god. Please, i am sorry if i made some mistakes in the big bang theory. So please, correct me if i am wrong, that is the nature in which asked this question: for you to explain your theory.

persons of the female gender are whores? Muslims claim that all "western" and "Christian" women are scandalous whores who wear little to no clothing, so please admit now if you fit the shoe. This is an anonymous forum, so be honest. If all the "western" and "Christian" women are guilty of this tragic behavior, we should see a nearly 90% confession rate here.

Thank you for your participation.

I have a spiritual connection to God. I know more about the teachings and have more faith than some people who do go to church. Is church absolutely nessecary? Why when we are all Christians, we have to separate from each other into these different groups within christianity. I worship in the sanction of my own home. People say that it's bad not to go to church, but not all of Gods children are in the church. Going to church doesn't make you a better Christian than one that doesn't go to church. I'm a Christian who isn't apart of the groups within Christianity like catholic, baptist, and so on. I just believe in God and Jesus Christ. Religion is man made. Spirituality with God is something we have in our hearts, something that God gave us. Isn't it all about respecting, helping, and loving each other.

Is that why we keep getting answerers regurgitating the same verses from the same old book when it is their OPINIONS that were asked for? Lines from a book are not your personal opinion, and are very seldom used as examples, but as answers. Before anyone even has a chance to start, most of the questioners never asked for your god(s) opinion. It would be understandable if they were used to back up your own thoughts, but that is seldom the case.

This simply isn't true. While there are some SMALL similarities between Jesus and other religious figures that came before him, there is also a HUGE amount of differences between his story and the other ones.

Of course if you examine two different things you can see similarities. Just look at the assasinations of Lincoln and Kennedy. There were a bunch of similarities. Just google it.

That doesn't mean though that two thousand years from now we should automatically assume that Kennedy never existed.

The atheist logic is severly flawed. Agree?

According to the Bible, Abraham has sons by two women -- his previously infertile wife Sarah and a slave girl named Hajar. Hajar gave birth to a son named Ishmael and Sarah gave birth to a son named Isaac. According to the Bible, why is Isaac the only son included in God's Covenant? However, the Covenant was between God, Abraham, and Abraham's desecendants (sons) not with Sarah or Hajar.
