ok so your not a Christian but you clearly are curiouse or you wouldn't be reading. So good for you.
Salves in the bible and masters was as simple at the time as working for your employeer is today. No God doesn't want us to be slaves or to have them.
The scripture you are refrerring to actually means: the believer's ethical duty and diligence in the marketplace is to perform as though serving Christ even when the worker's counterpart - employeer or employee - is accordingto the flesh, that is, even when the other is nt necessarily a Christian.
It talks in other places about slavery as well like don't be a slave to man; otherwise owe no man and stay debt free so you don't become a slave to him.
The problem isn't the bible or Christians it is people such as yourself that corrupt the bible from a lack of understanding and a position of anger. But I'm glad you asked and I could answer.
I pray God guides you and you find him.

No GOd does not want slavery. What you have been quoted from the Bible that is an evidence that Bible is not genuine anymore as given through Jesus by God.The Bible is written by men so the willingness of human has a bad impact on the Bible's contents..But oppositely the holy Qur'an although written by selected very trusted and honest humans so its genuity is maintained by God as stated in the holy Qur'an.We always presented the holy Qur'an in the 2 languages e.g in arabac language and letters as a genuine language and other language such as english, indonesian language etc.Qur'an has no other version it is only one version around the world but its interpratation in other language maybe different if the interpreter has no proper knowledge.

Slaves are forced to serve their masters, no longer given an option, our heavenly father does not want slaves, for this reason he gave you a choose for to serve him. Do you do the failings that your chum asks of you, or your mom, or your father. according to possibility you have had somebody over for dinner, or talked to somebody who needed help, lent somebody money. if so than you have served them, did you think approximately your self a slave. No on the grounds which you had a call and you go with for to realize this. God merely asks each individuals to "serve" him, compliment him and stick to his ultimate. by way of fact he's a holy god and is worth to be praised, worshiped, and cherished. And whilst he has performed lots for you (like a chum or parent could) you merely desire to do the comparable for him, even nevertheless you are able to in no way incredibly pay off him. Is that reported as being a slave? i think of no longer. what number slave masters reported "good day do you desire to artwork for me?"

Nice attempt at rationalizing your atheism, but no cigar. God didn't write the bible. Even though the bible is the inspired word of God, it was still written by man. Ephesians 6:5 may SOUND pretty cut and dry, but, I believe the true interpretation of that scripture has nothing to do with the condoning of having slaves.
As a Christian, my relationship is with Christ, not the bible. I believe you're using your slanted interpretations as rationalization for your beliefs.
None of us can truly know the true nature of God. I find it amazing that you obviously think you do.

God never treated us as slaves so why would we want to treat others as slaves.
In Bible days the people were living under the Law. But when Christ came that Law was abolished. We now live under grace. We now have freedom from that Law.
It is man who takes matters into his own hands and hide behind the Word of God to make their own laws.
Unless you get into the Word of God and "Study" what it says you will never fully understand the meaning of what it is telling us. You will always 'assume'
It was never God's intent for man to burn man. Sin is the cause of alot of things that occured in Scripture. Reading out of context without read the full content causes misunderstanding of what God is really saying to us.
Why don't you give it a try and Study the Word of God rightly dividing His truth from untruth.

5 Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; 6 not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, 7 with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, 8 knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free.
9 And you, masters, do the same things to them, giving up threatening, knowing that your own Master also[g] is in heaven, and there is no partiality with Him. NKJV. if ur goin to fight the bible then include everything not just bits and pieces

First thing first :) God is big on everyone has a place. God protects slaves at all times and frees them in due time. (Read the story of Joseph and Moses)
Second thing second :) God took on a human form to die for us because he demands a certain level of commitment. Under the law of Moses we still had many faults and would have been condemned. (that's why it took so long for them to actually get in the promised land)
It boils down to since God demands great things from us and he knows we can't deliver he sent someone who could. See only God himself could live up to his own standards - but he gets lonely and want's his children -us- with him. It's either God dies for us or we'd die for ourselves.
That thing Last:) Lucifer broke God's heart when he betrayed him and turned his angels against him. The eternal fire represents God greatest source of pain - rejection and betrayal. Unfortunately after the war- in heaven- God put his foot down and said your either with me or against me. The angels made their choice as must we.
If we were able to do whatever we wanted and still get into heaven then God would be a push over.
Bottom Line :( you can't get into the club if you don't pay the owner. Get it

Well this was in old times, when there was slaves of course, and as you see we dont have slaves now, I'm Christian my family is Christian and we do not own slaves, I am non-denominational and have not heard once that we are supposed to have slaves, and if you read it did not say "people will have slaves and the slaves must obey" It said " Slaves obey your masters " God wants us to obey and submit to the authority He has placed in our lives....just like children should obey their mothers and Fathers, and the Jesus Christ was the ultimate sacrifice for us all, even you, believe it or not, I may not know you but you are my brother in Christ, people may not agree but they also aren't willing to open heir minds to learn about the religions they criticize, and this is for Christians too, we have to learn about this world [[ not be of this world ]]in order to fight for our faith and to bring others to Christ. And that means reading and also understandin, studying, taking notes, not just reading and disagreeing

I am proud of my Judaism.Because it clearly says in the mizvots(commandments) not to own anyone. But we could have maids. It doesnt say slaves. It acually doesnt say much about maids. It just says to let your maids rest on the holy shabbat( not exactly quoted but this is what it means)
