I went to help him up and he pushed me away. I saw him fall again, and again I tried to help him up. After the third time watching him fall I stood and watched...
the question is this: When, as Christian, do we stop helping and stand back?

It never ceases to amaze me how christians can take commonly understood words and sentences and twist their meaning into something completely unrecognizable, and then look at you like -you- have no clue how to read English.

Reminds me of how christians justified slavery, pogroms against the Jews, the witch-hunts (not to mention the wonderfully sadistic tests used to detect a witch).

History is replete with christians twisting words to get what they want.

Any reason to think things are different now?

(O.o)

PS: if you really need an example, you are either very new here, or a christian. 'nuff said.

"Under the basic teachings of Islam, the Koran cannot be challenged or contradicted, being the perfect word of the creator of the Universe. To speak of the compatibility of science and Islam in 2007 is rather like speaking of the compatibility of science and Christianity in the year 1633, just as Galileo was being forced, under threat of death, to recant his understanding of the Earth's motion."

Yes, my 7th day adventist ex-colleague is at it again. I am a pentecostal christian, my colleague a 7th day adventist. We had a benign discussion (via email usually) about fashion and how I love cropped leggings, for example. She told me, "Fashion is of the devil. It can be like a drug to some people. Pride makes people half-dress in this current cold weather". I love clothes and pride myself in looking after my appearance. I am fashionable, but dress modestly with it. i.e. I don't have a cleavage, nor midriff showing and don't have any trousers, skirts above my knees. What do you think?

A man commits suicide by overdosing on pain medications.

He has the medications because he has recently been diagnosed with an uncurable cancer. Doctors have told him that he will live for several more months without treatment, undergoing extremely painful physical degeneration the entire time, leaving him in a vegetative state before he finally dies.

They can provide treatment which will prolong (but not save) his life for up to a year, possibly longer, but the treatments are very expensive. He has no health insurance, and the treatments will bankrupt his family.

Is his suicide a sin?

If I had to be specific, I would say the youth of El Salvador. A very high percentage of the population in El Salvador is youth. Something like 75% of the population is under the age of 16. I don't know the exact number, but it is something rediculous like that. I know a missionary named Don Tripplet that works there with the youth. I have heard stories, and seen sights that moved me to tears. So I would say that is who my heart goes out to.

I've had 3 abortion in my 27 years of life and most of my friends had at least 1 and had a pro-lifer approached me before either of the three abortions it would have made no difference whatsoever. It's been 2 years since my last one and I couldn't be happier with my decisions.Pro-lifers' views have received widespread coverage over the last few decades and it's made no difference, what do thry think they'll achieve by approaching people outside of a clinic? It's not like they'll be telling the women anything they don't already know.If you get pregnant and don't want it,you shouldn't have it.It's really as simple as that.
