Our blueprint for life is the Bible.....God's inspired Word
You folks are the ones that twist Scripture......not us.
Scripture is clear: You either believe it to be true, or you pay the price when you die without Christ.

The fact is, the Bible is a spiritual book, and cannot be read like mere literature. It is read spiritually. When I first began years ago, I couldn't figure out how the people around me got the things they did. It did not deter me, rather it made me more determined to learn. Eventually, things were shown to me, and not just by people. For me, I would be reading, then all at once the pieces would begin to fit together.
It's too common to look at one or two verses and think that's all it says...all of scripture has to be taken and brought to bear on some verses in order to make sense of them. It puts things into a greater context.
You are correct when you say throughout history the word has been twisted by christians to get what they want...it is up to those of us that know better to correct them, or confront them.

The Bible did not really inspire these things. In the past people may have done bad things and played Christian or went to Church after doing such bad things.. Jesus' 11 commandment was to love one another. So anymore who commits violence is not being a Christian according to what Jesus instructed.
A theory is that Judas tried to back Jesus into a corner and force Jesus to bring down a legion of Angels to reinstall the Davidic Kingdom, to do battle to overthrow the Romans. But Judas' turning in Jesus to be tried did not derail the spirit or the mission of Christ. Judas was not able to change the anti-violence ministry of Christ.

First, i could desire to ask what a neo-Christian is. I actual have in no way heard the term and that i'm curious as to comprehend precisely what they have faith. i do no longer actual comprehend what your question is yet right it is my critiques. The bible, inspite of the fact that the word of God, isn't necisarily all approximately what he needs us to do or what's solid. it incredibly is a history e book, explaining what has happened. There are issues that happened the God does not let us know is solid, yet they did take place and subsequently they're area of the bible to tutor us how God can use human beings even by using this sin and use them for his will. particular verses interior the bible is often very circumstancial and subsequently we could desire to constantly be very careful to no longer take issues out of context. I actual have in no way been instructed I could desire to settle for the bible without question. My father is a pastor/minister and he has constantly inspired be to question, examine and be taught approximately each little thing. it is not by way of fact something is incorrect, yet sometimes our impressions or what we expect of is being reported is actual no longer what's being reported. it is why it incredibly is often important to hearken to different peoples critiques and physique of suggestions the bible with an open suggestions. i'm happy to work out which you seem doing this. individually, I actual have got here across that when i actual comprehend an factor to the bible, no areas will contradict one yet another. in case you ever have subject information an factor to the bible, ask somebody to help you. Pray to God to enable you notice the which skill of what you're interpreting. examine the history and custom that distinctive area of the bible is set in and solid success. p.s. One person at right here wrote that one contradiction grew to become into the commmandment which you shall no longer kill, yet God kills amny human beings in the process the bible and helps others to do the comparable. i could merely desire to declare that the commandment isn't 'thou shall no longer kill' yet 'thou shall no longer homicide' which present 2 very different rules.

I am a Christian and I don't justify any of the things you listed. Those were all sins and are wrong to have been done.

This has been my complaint about you atheists since I've been in this place. Why do atheists merely repeat what they see other atheists posting in here, thus effectively perpetuating the willful ignorance?
Talking "snakes"? Do the research. Really.

Yes, they do turn things upside-down.
A nice free resource to turn things right-side-up is this fun story about a couple youngsters who decide to take on the "mighty theologians." They do a great job of sorting through the mess.

Having a Catholic nuclear family, it can be very painful but I also choose not to engage and just accept and love them. I may not believe as they do but I am respectful. I hope I am the same way here but I'm not the best 'judge' of my own words at times. Many blessings! Good to see you again!

Well most of them have never actually read the Bible for themselves, so that leaves it pretty open for interpretation. ( http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/03/01/AR2007030102073.html
)
Most of those weird looks you get are because they have never heard those words before and are shocked that they are actually there.
