Because that's what it is.

If a god has a plan and is actively following that plan to fruition, then doesn't it stand to reason that all that is going on around you is MEANT to be? If that god meant for things to be otherwise, would it not MAKE it so? Ponder this quote:

"Yet, with all this strange appearance of humility, and this contempt for human reason, he ventures into the boldest presumptions. He finds fault with everything. His selfishness is never satisfied; his ingratitude is never at an end. He takes on himself to direct the Almighty what to do, even in the govemment of the universe. He prays dictatorially. When it is sunshine, he prays for rain, and when it is rain, he prays for sunshine. He follows the same idea in everything that he prays for; for what is the amount of all his prayers, but an attempt to make the Almighty change his mind, and act otherwise than he does? It is as if he were to say -- thou knowest not so well as I."

Agree or Disagree. Bonus if you can identify the author and book.

People are constantly asking if GOD exist, and I can't help but wonder why ask such a question while your beathing. GOD blesses you with the breath of life from the start, your heart and all your internal organs work because HE said so. If you look outside trees, birds etc are all blessings from above. Even the wind that blows is a testament to his stregnth. I have heard quite a few reason why people don't believe, but in my opinion I think that some of the main reasons may be selfishness and pride. Selfishness, because GOD always put others before himself He even gave us his SON. Not to mention wanting to do everything and anything with no one to answer to for your actions and no consequences for your action. Pride, because you don't want to answer or be beholding to someone for every little thing and lets not forget you have to be able to drop your pride to get on your knees and pray. I hope those who don't have faith find it.

I just saw this saying on the back of a car...and yes, it is sappy...but, I thought it is kinda cool.

It transcends a person's religion, lack of religion, fundamentalism, liberalism, etc....

If we all just try to make the world a better place in our locales we can affect great change. The smile we give a checker, holding the door open for someone, any random act of kindness...may go a long way.. further than we may imagine. Maybe our act of kindness can encourage others to pay it forward too.

Any other sappy sayings you want to share?

Does anyone believe Noah's Ark, Literally?

(or some form of this same question) it's asked every day by various people, sometimes over and over again in the same day.

Can they not come up with at least one original and actual thought provoking question?

I'm having a lot of trouble understanding God and the Bible. I'm of Luthern religion which is Christian and I have a "Good News" Bible. The trouble is that the "Good News" Bible is nothing but bad news!

In Job, it's clearly said that humans and angels are forever unworthy of God. If it wasn't for Jesus' sacrifice for our sins we wouldn't have not a hope in the world of God accepting us. So basically you and I are pieces of **** from the beginning. Am I wrong? That makes me feel real good. Thanks for all the confidence Lord.

From all the stories I've read so far seems it that God is a mass murderer with an anger management problem. I can't believe how many times I've read that he's killed somebody.

Speaking of Job, what do you say to one of the servants that was killed while God and Satan made friendly bets on his devotion. What did any servant do wrong besides innocently serve Job? Nothing! He died because God said so. That's awful.

I can't believe it! Our Lord is out of control!

I have a question that has bothered he since i can rember.. ok in the bible it says,"Passage Exodus 20:4-6:

4Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
5Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments."

if the bible says this why do you have saints?? and images?? and you bown down to them even pray to them and kiss them?? please let me know why... this has puzzled me for a while.... serious answers only!

According to creation scientist Em Adjineri (say it out loud) there is celestial teapot that orbits the sun between Earth and Mars. It is too small to be detected by telescopes, and any attempts to locate it will be futile, because it hides very well.

The teapot has magical powers. For example, it created the universe. The teapot is so powerful, it can turn a thousand loaves of bread into just enough to feed three people. It can also turn wine into water, and raise the living.

Can any of you prove to me that such a teapot doesn't exist? Since you can't, you should worship it like I do.

I've filled the teapot with drinks. Anybody want one?

It isn't true. People got the idea that we worshipped Satan from an image they saw of Pan. Am I right? So why don't people actually try to learn about other religions any more?

This question follows on from "Did Satan give us Free Will?"

Once we get to the point of creating Artificial Intelligences that can think for themselves and make choices, is it right of us to still see them as property, or should they at that point become people in their own right? Is it slavery to keep something you create in bondage?

I took a faith test last night (I forget what the site was) and it said I was 100% Neo Pagan. I have heard of it, but never looked into it. I am very strong in my beliefs but I just don't label myself. I am so not into religion (rules that determine if you're 'saved' or 'spiritual' or not) at all. Would just like some more info about the neo-pagan faith.

Think about it: God creates man, an innocent, with no knowledge, no real sense of self, no nothing - we're basically a showpiece in a garden.

By tempting us into eating from the tree Satan gives us the capacity to choose, thereby releasing us from God's tyranny.

Incidentally, many Gnostic groups, most notably the Ophidians, believed exactly this.

I just had an idea. Would you get a tattoo of Levitcus 19:28, just for the raw irony of it?

Lev. 19:28

"Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD."
