LOL

Hmmm...I am your typical mom. I dress most comfortably in jeans and t-shirts most of the time. I own my own home. I cook and even bake. I drive a van. If you passed me on the street you would not be able to pick me out of a crowd.

My beliefs do not physically transform me into some hideous-looking monster. Do your beliefs make you look any different on the outside? Did your physical appearance change, or did you change the way you dress when you found your current belief system? Do you behave significantly different?
If not, why would you think Atheists do? If so, maybe you are the non-conformist.

You know what they say - "The insane person thinks they are the only ones sane. It's the rest of the world that's crazy."

Let's see what the Bible has to say :

Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors. "The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him." (Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT)

I realy think that thinking of the livestock is a nice touch.
Peace and love dear....

Wow, reading some of these answers I would believe they are weird. No, I don't think I'm weird. There might be a correlation between societal outcasts and atheists but I fit in fairly normal. Most people don't ever ask me about my religion so most people don't even know that I'm agnostic/atheist (depends on my mood).

What you talkin bout, Willis? Hershey Graves had this to assert approximately "weird and wonderful' “The theory of God... coming down from heaven, and being born of [a] virgin, and scarcity of existence a violent dying for the ethical errors of the human beings, originated in an age of the international whilst guy replaced right into a savage, and dwelt completely upon the animal airplane, and blood replaced into the requisition for each offense. [aside from formative years indoctrinations and intense desires to simplify our innovations at any fee], this theory is basically too titanic and preposterous to stumble on a lodgment in a rational innovations.”

You are stereotyping. You probably know a bunch more atheists than you think, it is just that certain ones that are vocal on it than others. And those are the ones that you associate atheism with.

It is on the same line as me seeing those christians on the sidewalk with a megaphone and a huge poster reading scripture. They are very weird. I however know that there are much more normal believers out there.

When it comes to weird, sister, religious folks win hands down. Seeing Jesus in your toast or Mary in a tree bark, rolling on the floor, babbling nonsense and calling it a secret language, meeting the king of the universe in midair, belief in virgin births, rising from the dead, denying what their senses tell them in favor of things that cannot be proved to exist. Gimme a break!

But if you're like that yourself, how could anyone expect you not to think the way you do? I suppose a thinking and reasoning person might appear pretty odd to you.

Yes... without a doubt... they are all weird, because they are 'abnormal'. Normal, in the USA at least, is defined as being gullibile, irrational, willfully ignorant, self-deluded, intellectually dishonest, droolingly stupid and hypocritical... i.e., 'religious'. Atheists, on the other hand, being sane and rational, are decidedly NOT normal.

Do you think, perhaps, that they should be forced to wear big yellow tags, labeled 'Atheist', so that they can be easily identifed when the time comes to deal with them?

Weird looking huh that's interesting. So I suppose anyone who's weird looking would be an atheist because "lord" knows a christian cant be weird looking.

I find atheist to be quite like everyone else in the "looks" dept. and very sane.

If weird means thinking for yourself, then I guess so. Besides, I bet you know atheists, and don't even know it. We number more than you think, we just don't speak out all the time because people treat us so hostile. But that is changing...
