For those Christians who believe in creationism without evolution. If it could be shown without doubt that everything evolved blindly over billions of years through natural selection only and with no supernatural intervention, how would this change your Christian beliefs? Would it invalidate Christianity? Would you be able to find another creative explanation?

Frank, or Robert, or Blake, or Osama, or George, or Samantha? Is it possible that God is Bi-Sexual and that is why he created both man and woman and a few mixed genders in between? Maybe he is a true rainbow and that is why we have yellow, and red, and white, and pale, and dark skinned people throughout our world? If it's not impossible it must be possible right?

...how can Protestants justify Sola Scriptura? If I write a book, am I not the authority on what it means? Is it guaranteed that I have placed all my knowledge into the book such that nothing else I say can be added?

2 Timothy 3:16, "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching...", does not imply that the Bible is inerrant. Paul was not even referring to the New Testament when he wrote that, as it did not yet exist. He was referring to the Jewish Scriptures, and worse, inspired != inerrant.

I don't get it.

77 Jesus said, "I am the light that is over all things. I am all: from me all came forth, and to me all attained.
Split a piece of wood; I am there.
Lift up the stone, and you will find me there."

I know this is a quote from the Gospel of Thomas but this is the closest to describe what I experienced.

Please note that i am not religious what so ever but have studied quite a few religions and a lot of spiritual texts.

Was this God or not?

Did I miss anything?

Is this why it seems so silly when people tell me I should "just believe/have faith"? Like I can go back and change the experiences which have defined my life because they tell me to...

I've wondered this too for awhile. Why can't we have religious education in public schools? No one's discriminating; you wouldn't HAVE to take the classes. If it's an issue of not everyone wanting theology teachers paid out of their tax money, this is what I propose.

Some communities are a lot more religious than others. Some communities couldn't really care less whether there's a God or not. Some are predominantly Jewish, some Catholic, some Baptist, some... you get the picture. Therefore, I think each school district should have a vote: do you want religion classes to be covered by our school's budget, and if so, classes in which religion(s)? If voted no, that school could carry on as usual. If voted yes, that community could have the extra classes. I do understand that there would be an issue with standardizing curricula for classes in various religions, but we did it in every other subject. Public schools are supposed to work for the people, not vice versa.

Ok, I've been attacked verbally and physically on this question, when I'm asked, I say no. Here's why, I did go to church for a while and did engage in prayer at every meal and before rest. While a believer, I got diebetes, and a stutter which cost me many of my friends, had many jobs denied to me, and seemed to go broke money wise. Once I stopped praying, the exact opposite occured, i still speak foul of tongue and have diebetes, but my health with it has improved. I have seen a little kid get shot for no reason in Philly during a gang battle, and I know that family prayed every damned day! Most of the greatest wars were fought over Religion and God, WWII and the Jewish irradication, Crusades, because it was "misinterpreted" "Thou shalt not kill... other Christians" said the church, and millions died for that one. And if God loves all his children, why will he send them to hell for all Eternity for one mistake? Because he didn't repent although he feels bad? Makes no sense, why belive

This person has become a very serious and involved Christian since I last talked with them. I'm not sure how to take the comment. I thought it meant sympathy for Israel but someone told me they took it the opposite way. What would you think?

FYI, it's actually just a title. Jesus *the* christ or christ jesus are much more appropriate than jesus christ or plain old christ
