I am pro-life. The only sure instance where abortion may be needed is when the mother's life is in danger, or r*pe/in*est. There are too many other options (the pill, abstinance, having your tubes tied, etc.) to justify abortion as a way of birth control.

Earlier I replied to a question by someone who has had THREE abortions, she's under 30, and she even added that she couldn't be happier. She is a perfect example of why abortion should at least be regulated and restricted to the above mentioned instances!

Women that have a high chance of dying while giving birth: Yes, they should have a choice (although aborting will still not necessarily be the right choice for these mothers), because a life will be taken either way and it would be better to abort one who hasn't tasted life yet. Victims of rape/incest: Yes, they should have a choice (although aborting will still not necessarily be the right choice for these mothers), for the reason that going through pregnancy could stimulate mental trauma as it is a constant reminder of the rape. Teen moms: Most should not have a choice. The difference from the former two cases being that they probably aren't going to die, and they were not forced to have sex (they made that choice on their own). Even if these moms are going to be abusive, they should have the baby and then give it up. In almost all other cases, I believe that, no, it would not be acceptable to abort.

Interesting.

I am against taking the life of a child. BUT at the same time, I am against taking away the rights of American citizens to make their own choices and their right to choose what to do with their bodies. Sure, this issue most affects women, but what about in the future? If we set a precadent by taking away a woman's right to choose, what rights will be taken from us later down the road?

I believe that abortion should NOT be outlawed, but I also believe that NO TAX DOLLARS should be used to pay for abortions, either.

When a person makes a choice, they need to understand that each choice has a resulting consequence. If you can't handle the result, choose wiser!

I'm sort of on the fence on this topic. It's a little less black and white for me and my opinions are in the grey area.

Personally I believe that abortion is morally wrong and I take a moral stance against it. However, I do not with to legislate my morals and/or beliefs. It is my opinion that abortion should be legal under extreme circumstances only. I think abortion should be controlled more than it is at this time and that perhaps the mother should be required to undergo counceling and evaluation prior to being permitted to have an abortion performed. The circumstances and reasons to perform the abortion should be reviewed carefully prior to the state and the doctor making the decision to permit the abortion to be performed, in my opinion.

I am pro choice. I do not believe that abortion should be used as birth control though. I believe that every woman has the right to make the choice. Personally I believe that abortion should only be in cases of in*est, r*pe, young girls, or if the mother or child would die.

Pro-life, if you get into the situation of your own doing where you become pregnant, then this is the responsibility you should have for your actions. This covers the in*est part
In regards to r*pe, that is a extreamly awkward topic. Usually this would not result in pregnancy, as the body would reject usually from the trauma.
lastly, in reference to all abortions, they should all be illegal i feel, except where the child is going to endanger the life of the mother. In the bible it does say that abortions are allowed if the pregnancy is going to be fatal to the mother i think. Other then that, it is a legitimate life from the moment of conception, and should not be killed.

It is not just a black or white issue.

I am pro-choice but with regulations. No late term abortion. If you get more than 2 abortions a year something else needs to be done. For medical reasons, death to mother, baby born with no chance of life, rape, etc.

I myself am pregnant. I do not believe I would ever need an abortion. My birth control did not work. I choose with my husband to be to keep the child.

I feel the foster system in the US is not the best place for a child to grow up in.

I am pro-life.
I believe that there are some cases in which an abortion might be the only answer, but that is the exception, not the rule. These cases ought to be between the mother, her doctor, and her God.
The death of any child, even a child conceived by incest or rape, is a very sad occasion...

I don't think anti choicers should call themselves pro life - most of them believe in the death penalty and many would prefer the mother to die over having an abortion.

Absolutely pro-life. Rape and incest are not really a factor in my thinking, the BABY did nothing wrong yet gets a death sentence.

But, usually there is a choice, a choice to have sex, but that seems lost in our so-called progressive society.

And I repeat, the Baby did nothing wrong. And still he/she is murdered simply because he/she was conceived by a man and woman that have no feeling for anyone but their selves.
A simple fact.

Even the most backward of nations in the world look down on the US for our totally absurd view of taking a life. And they are right.
