Do you think that all of the major National Disasters we keep having, have religious apocalyptic undertones?

For the last couple of years there seem to be SO MANY major national disasters. Ohio is underwater, fires burning CONSTANTLy everywhere. The one in California has been burning for like a month. A Hurricane just devastated a part of Mexico, Katrina wasn't too long ago, and again SO MANY fires and even more hurricanes.
And let's not forget about the terrible tornados of which more than I can think of right now have ripped through our country recently.

Isn't this a HUG upswing from what we used to have as of about 6 years and more ago?

There were floods in Europe and India and China too. Drought is worsening and volcanic activity is picking up. It's all over the globe, not just here where we see it. And the severity is getting worse. It's reported because it's happening. Not because the news finally decided to cover it. I'd say we may be seeing a little more prophecy fulfilled each year that goes by. It won't surprise Christians and non-believers will find a way to explain it away. I think it only gets worse.

Is it any wonder that this verse can occur:

Rev 9:
20 But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. 21 And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.

It's a big media upswing from six years ago. Do you remember seeing reports standing outside in the hurricane six years ago. Because I don't.

Since 1914 life has been marred by wars between nations and between ethnic groups, often as a result of political interference by clergymen and now by widespread terrorist attacks.

In spite of scientific developments, extreme food shortages are the lot of hundreds of millions of people earth wide. Each year millions of people die because of shortage of food.

Pestilence, that is, widespread epidemics of infectious disease, is also part of the sign given by Jesus. Following World War I, an epidemic of influenza claimed over 21,000,000 lives. Unlike fairly localized plagues in ages past, it touched nations earth wide as well as remote islands. AIDS is now sweeping the globe, and such plagues as TB, malaria, river blindness, and Chagas’ disease persist in developing nations.

Reportedly, there are tens of thousands of earthquakes of varying intensity every year. Regardless of available equipment and improved reporting methods, disasters in population centers as a result of earthquakes have become frequent news.

The Bible also foretold: “Know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away.”—2 Timothy 3:1-5.

No, we constantly have National disasters of one kind or another, it's not new. This kind of stuff always happens, and there does seem to be a pattern. But the pattern is not Jesus is coming,

My belief is in Gaia mother earth. If you follow this course then the actions of nature are always aimed at restoring balance.

Nope... nature may be pissed off at the abuse that mankind has brought on her over the years. But not apocalyptic undertones.
