You hear things like how could you not believe in miracles if you saw one before your eyes but then if you've never seen a miracle, it doesn't matter. You still have to believe in miracles.

And I don't see how the person who CAN'T give up his faith and become a Christian is in a different position from the person who CAN'T give up his faith and not be a Christian anuymore.

There are those who think that life has nothing left to chance A host of holy horrors to direct our aimless dance

A planet of play things We dance on the strings Of powers we cannot perceive 'The stars aren't aligned Or the gods are malign...' Blame is better to give than receive

You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill I will choose a path that's clear I will choose freewill

There are those who think That they were dealt a losing hand The cards were stacked against them
They weren't born in Lotusland

All preordained A prisoner in chains A victim of venomous fate Kicked in the face You can't pray for a place In heaven's unearthly estate

You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill I will choose a path that's clear I will choose freewill

Each of us A cell of awareness Imperfect and incomplete Genetic blends With uncertain ends On a fortune hunt that's far too fleet

You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill I will choose a path that's clear I will choose freewill

B/c you're dealing with two sets of presuppostions and two world-views. If a Christian were asked to abandon their belief in the Creator God of the Bible if they witness you doing a miracle that would be ludicrous. According to the Bible the next person in line that will be doing fantastic signs is the anti-christ.

If you see a miracle you have the right to believe it was a miracle or not. How is that not free will?

Many people become Christians and then abandon their faith. How is that not free will?

ServantofGod is so totally wrong. I was raised a Christian and became an atheist. I stopped believing in God. It wasn't the truth for me. Good question, love the implication!

Alright it is like this. The person who can't give up his Faith must anyways and accept God. And the person who can't give up his Faith and not be a Christian must anyways and accept God. You must accept God to get life.

I lost my faith and have yet to find it...but I do believe there is a god of some kind....and no faith has nothing to do with belief...

The way I see it people either believe or they don't It is there choice to make.. and not for someone else to make for them or try to force onto them.

I'm a christian and to be honest I don't know many that haven't ever lost there faith from time to time and had doubts. God helps build your faith and strength. We all struggle from time to time.

If you believe in something it emanates from within you therefore it is a part of how you define yourself and express that to the world. To stop believing is to deny how you see yourself and the world, incurring a major identity crisis.

I wish I could explain this to you so you could see it clearly but once you believe and you belong to Christ then nothing can remove you from that. And once you are a Christian and know Christ you don't want to believe anything else because you Know the truth. And the truth will set you free.

The difference in position though is enternal life vs. not having enternal life.

When you are saved you are sealed with the Holy Spirit ( Ephesians 1 and 2 Corinthians 1)
Christ now lives in us-- we are forever sealed with Him and He changes us-- of course there are doubts being human but God ALWAYS strengthens our faith when we SEEK HIM and His word. We who love the Lord only want to live for Him- we cannot imagine our lives without Him!
Jesus is now living in us-- His Holy Spirit.
And Jesus tells us in the gospels that once we are saved in Him "No one can snatch them out of His hand"
