A Christian is someone who has been born again. Who has accepted Christ into their hearts. Who believe He is the Son of God, was born of a virgin, lived his life as a man, was tortured and crucified for our sins, died and rose on the 3rd day and is alive today. People throw the word "Christian" around without really knowing what a Christian is. Just because you are catholic, lutheran, methodist etc. etc. does not instantly make you a Christian. You are not a Christian unless you have accepted Jesus Christ as your savior. Religion is man made rules and regulations and is not Christianity. So next time you say "You Christians" you may be addressing, judging or accusing the wrong people.

Does God love you SO much that he'll send you to Hell for all eternity if you don't love, worship & obey him?

And SIMILARLY (make sure to read this)...

Would you love, say, a boss who threatened to cut off your legs if you score anything less than 100% on your next performance review? Would you love a boss who threatened to literally set you on fire if you don't talk them up to everyone you know? Would you love a boss who claims that you'd be doing all of this to YOURSELF, that really, he only set up the rules and you were the one who failed to follow them?

Would you say that a boss like that loves you?

They say you can't have an abortion or use birth control, that you can't have sex before marriage and that gay marriage is wrong...

BUT it's OK for a priest to molest a little boy? Nobody even went to jail for that they just paid the families off. Nobody even got denounced as a priest for it they just moved them to another church.

WTF is up with that?

To whom are you praying? Is it one god or is it several? Do you have different gods for different situations? What guidelines do you use? How often do you pray? I know more than just Christians pray. I want to see where we differ.

their is a law that say we r not aloud 2 have religious acts in public. which keeps anything prayer(and other Christian things) out of school but it doesnt stop atheism(which is considered the religion or having no religion by the government). by not having religous events(such as prayer) in school they r making us be do religious acts of atheism. so why dont we Christians do something about that(like use it somehow 2 get prayer back in schools).

The bible says that when the world has heard of Christ the Rapture will take place. I just read an article saying how rapidly Christianity is spreading through China and expect it too continue on that way to other countries. Do you think the end is beginning?

My mom is great except for one thing. If you (son or daughter of hers) walks in she'll tell you you are fat, or need a haircut or are gaining weight excessively flat out and passionately. She'll criticize you when you are close by to her so that you won't go near her or want to be part of her. I can't stand it.

One time I asked her why doesn't she criticize the neighbor across the street, and she said no, I care about my family, not the neighbor. Does that mean she respects the neighbors better than she does her own family. She also likes to bring shame down upon us if we don't behave well, like if we don't say please, excuse me, and she'll basically pound your head and say shame on you for not behaving and so forth never ending... Your thoughts.

She hates the idea of driving, but in her dream, she is driving a brand new yellow car and waving by to every one.
she has told me this dream several times now. and just last night she said she had the uncontrollable urge to hug the kids.

Just got this email today. It might be bluster, but unfortunately you can't put anything past the demonically oppressed. My prayer is that God will reveal himself to the Taliban and many of them will come to Christ. Like when the Waodani killed the missionaries in Ecuador 50 years ago and wound up all getting saved (End of the Spear).

Anyway, please lift them up, they really need our prayers.

Please pray for the 22 Korean Christian missionaries kidnapped by Taliban in Afghanistan. They will start killing them tonight. Please forward this to others for prayer too.

We have all looked at this but I was questioning how do we take the bible in contect. There are hundreds of verses that can be interpreted any way you like.

Look at Communion, Jesus said unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood there is no life in you. OK so lots of people following him said this is nuts. He didnt say unless you believe I will die for your sins.

Jews were expecting a Messiah were they not, they were used to Temple sacrifice, if Jesus meant his death and resurection he surely would have said it, otherwide he was just pushing people away -

He didnt say you have to drink my blood and then everyone runs off and then he says privatly "hey I didnt mean that, i meant beleive in my sacrifice" because he would have wrongly sent people away.

When did the change in the belief in communion happen. Was it with Luther or after him

Just curious... I posted another question on here how my mother said that children would be better off with God than with a gay couple.

With this being said - I asked her what she meant to have her clarify and she said - in heaven.

My initial reaction was how do you get to heaven - ummm you die.

So kids are better off dead then with 2 parents that love them.

I am not arguing this point - it was something she said and I don't think she thought it all the way though. My mom isn't the type to promote killing kids - and I understand what she was trying to say.

But just generally to that statement - the idea someone would be having the right to think it is ok to kill a child.

A lot of the responses I had was she is entitled to her opinion. Really? It's ok that someone thinks kids should die?

Well what about the statement "I think little 6 year old girls are hot?"

If someone said this would they still be entitled to their opinion?

Where does the line get drawn?

Apparently I don't know how to click today. I accidentally posted this in the Marriage and Divorce section.

You know . . . the game where the first person was given a card with a saying on it, and that person whispered in the ear of the person next to them, and so on and so on. And by the end of the circle, the last person told everyone what was whispered to them, and it wasn't even close to the original saying on the card?

If the Bible is the word of God, and several different men transcribed the word of God, and the message passed through different means before it was even transcribed, isn't it possible that the composers of the Bible got some of God's word wrong?

Note: I'm not saying the Bible is "wrong." I'm asking is it possible that the Bible lacks accuracy?

I grew up in a small town in Missouri.

We are lucky, because we are athletic guys, not perceived as gay...and most people would never physically try to harm us.

I decided if I were married to a woman, I would take my wife...so what's the difference....this is the love of my life.

We do not flaunt our lifestyle, but we do not hide it either. We will not mug down with each other in front of anyone...but, I am sure, as several know I am gay, that most will understand by the end of the evening.

Funny thing is, I am secure in my life, who I am, where I am...but, a little nervous about this.

Part of the reason I am going is for vanity, to show those who ridiculed me in school that I am successful, attractive, etc...(too bad we won't be taking our shirts off, so I can show my 39 year old rock-hard abs) :-) I also want to see some old friends

I asked in G&L groups if anyone had experience with this...but, wanted input from R&S folks too.
