If a pregnant woman is murdered, is the criminal guilty of one or two murders.

If the mother were to survive but not the life inside, should the criminal be charged with murder of the unborn?

demons and fallen angels could be extraterrestrial in origin? I am also aware of the point of view that the supposed aliens of UFO/abduction lore are thought by some to be Old Testament bad guys putting up the false impression that they are ET's to decieve mankind. Do these ideas have officially coined names?

Many years ago, in Los Angeles CA I was raped and molested by a priest. I had repressed these memories until 6 months ago. I became depressed and sought help and during therapy these memories came out. In checking with family members they confirm the events happened. Now I am mad at everyone. My family, the priest, the Church, myself...I just don't have any clue how to get through this. I was 5 years old when it began and went on for 2 years. No one would believe me, until finally I convinced my grandfather who took me to a doctor who confirmed this and my grandfather rescued me. Unfortunatley he died of a heartattack weeks later and my parents then decieded it would be fun to beat the living hell out of me for a few more years until I became too big for them to hurt anymore. All of the people in this are now dead and I am hurting so bad...I just want it to end. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading and rsponding to this. This is true...not a joke.

I'm often told that evolution can't happen because it ignores the Second Law of Thermodynamics which states that the entropy of a system always increases. Ignoring that all it takes to overcome the second law is energy and the Earth recieves pleny from the sun, lets just assume evolution breaks the second law. Well God breaks the First law of Thermodynamics. The First Law of Thermodynamics states that matter and energy cannot be created or destroyed. If matter and energy can be created or destroyed, then the universe could not have been created by God because God would have broken the first law.

Ok - so my mother and I don't see eye to eye - she is a staunch Southern Baptist and I am a Goddess loving Dianic. Anyway, her and I tend to get along - and I love my mom. Sometimes she will talk to me about God, and I let her. I understand where she is coming from in her worry for my soul and we have good discussions and she helps me.

However sometimes she will say VERY offensive things. Normally I just let them roll - like her views on stem cell research, gay marriage - etc.

Well today, don't ask me how we got to this point but she said that the gay lifestyle was being promoted to children and I was like WHAT are you talking about? It's not like they sell lesbian Bratz dolls. And she explained how she saw a book in B&N about mommy and mommy - explaining same sex parenting.

It was probably one of those for kids with two mommies.

I told her I didn't want to talk about it and then she said that the kids are better off "with god then with a gay couple"

Thoughts?

And those who disbelieve say: This is nothing but a lie which he has forged, and other people have helped him at it; so indeed they have done injustice and (uttered) falsehood.
{Quran 25:4}

Say: He, God, is One. The absolute, The eternal. He begets not, nor is He begotten. There is none like him.{Quran 114:1-4}

Surely those who disbelieve and turn away from God's way(Islam) and oppose the Messenger(Prophet Muhammad) after guidance has become clear to them cannot harm God in any way, and He will make null their deeds.{Quran 47:32}

I understand and respect the "pro-life" position when it comes from someone who genuinely wants to protect life. But I don't understand this increasing insistence on referring to all abortions as "murder" and all of its "victims" as "babies". As if women who take a morning after pill or RU486 are doing the equivalent of shooting their 2 year old. When pressed, it seems apparent that most prolife people don't really either. Not deep down. If 800,000 American two year olds were scheduled to be murdered this year, I would be compelled to spend all of my energy, all of my time, all of my money, and even my life to stop it. If someone were coming to kill my 2 year old neighbor, parent or not, I would fight him to the death. If one truly believes that a 2 year old equals a fetus, who equals an embryo who equals a stem cell, then why don't more of you feel morally obliged to commit drastic acts of civil disobedience in their protection? Thanks in advance for your thorough responses!

They come to mine about 2x a year. Never pressure me, always polite. They even ask me if they can leave whatever they got with me! One left a book with me title What Does The Bible Really Teach? That was about a year ago, said he was coming back to ask me questions and never showed up after that. Well, I forgot all about it that book until I found it last week in my "junk check it later drawer" just a few days ago. I read just a few pages of it so far. I am just wondering because I see a lot of postings where answerer's say they are annoying and knocking all the time. Well, not where I live!

For what reasons would you kill? And, would you kill to protect yourself or someone else from being hurt or killed, or would you rather die, let someone die, than to kill someone?

Seems like another case of Big Brother rearing his ugly head in the name of "peace and safety". Now in May 2008, the law will require all states to issue cards to everyone, drivers and non drivers alike, and submit their information to a federal database. This is no longer a conspiracy, it was signed into law May 2005. Are we going to need a license just to enter buildings now?

(considering God exists)

God is an eternal "thing, existance, being, etc"...

God doesn't live because God was never born and can never die. God hasn't a life, God simply exists.

God cannot be alive and well because God always was and always will be therefore the term alive doesn't work!

God must always be "well" because God is everything and if God weren't well everything would cease to exist!

If you insist on saying God is alive and well you'll have to explain the idea much better because it makes no sense whatsoever!

Let me ask this question again....

Jesus talked about false prophets and teachers.

As a christian, do you feel that you are in a church or group that follows the bible strictly.

What makes you so confident in your group or church?

Are you doing what Jesus comanded the 1st century christians to do?

For example, Go town to town, house to house preaching the word of god.

This is what the letter of paul and peter are all about. preaching to neighbors, friends and everyone. Jesus did not stop preaching after he got baptized. All he did was spread the word. does your church or group follow these steps.

So, state the name of the church or group and let us know what they do.

"Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind."

I don't really agree with him on this, but maybe the high school science geniuses will find a reason to moderate your 'people who believe in religion are stupid' pronouncements.

As an atheist looking in I am puzzled by Christians who berate Scientologists, my reasons: Well neither Christian follower nor Scientologist have actually seen any evidence with their own eyes of the deity they follow. Both rely on shapes made by ink on paper. with what proof/evidence do you believe your faith has been substansiated more than the other?

To me it looks like you're both doing exactly the same thing, just different publications
