You seem to have a common misconception about God. People often think of God as being found throughout the universe or as been everywhere. The opposite is true. all of the universe and "everywhere" is found insde of God. But he transcends both those concepts by so much that they are nearly insignificent compared to him.
To state that "God is alive" is probably less accurate then to state that God is Life. The only reason anything or anyone else has life is because it is included inside of God, who is Life itself. So he is able to birth other forms of life within himself and his universe.
The concept that life has to have a beginning exist only within the confines of a material or physical universe. When you transcend that universe, origin or beginning is no longer an issue. Life would exist without an origin or a birth.
As long as you try to confine God within the physical, or the limits of time and space, you are right that he would be an illogical idea. Once you understand that time and space are simply a small part of him, the logics of his existence is simple.

i know exactly what you're saying, but all of the people who insist on saying that God is "alive" do not have any proof to back it up.
But if everything were God, then God would be alive. I think of plants, animals, and people. But what about rocks? Are rocks alive? Rocks have always been here, but when was the beginning? Can we safely assume that there was no beginning and things have always been? We could then say that time is in a loop. Once the world "ends", things will start all over again. But, if rocks have always been here, then God has always been here, proving that God was never born; God was here the entire time. Since God was never born, God cannot be alive. But God is not dead, either.
So, God is not dead or alive. No one can prove otherwise, unless it is God.

Wow! What a semantic argument!
Christians say their God is a living God in order to contrast Him with idols, which are just little statues carved out of rock. How divine! They must be sooo powerful! I agree with you that God was never born and cannot die, but that doesn't necessarily mean He's not alive.

it extremely is a deep rooted non secular question. i do no longer think of everyone provides you with a resounding answer in Yahoo solutions. enable me supply my version Your question looks like this: why is God nonetheless putting around while there seems to be no purpose? in view that He has no longer something left to acheive. definite, God has no longer something to acheive something new. he's paripurnan. the 1st actual nama in Vishnu Saharanama is Visvam meaning he's done in all respects. he's not remoted in His existence. We the souls have plenty to acheive. we are lacking in jnana(expertise), means, bakthi(love) and so on for some reason or different. God is existence breath, the foodstuff, the means and each thing. as quickly as we understand this we are relieved from this cycle of sufferings. God is alive and kicking is a actuality as is obvious from nature being alive and all of us are alive and thriving. the two nature and we residing beings are dependant on God. So it is going without asserting that God does exist and He has lot greater purpose than any human beings. God is all encompassing and knower of all however the difficulty is we are actually not.

God was born into human form by Jesus Christ, who was his Son born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus was a human. He was crucified and died on the cross for out sins. 3 days later he was resurrected by God. So therefore, God is alive because Jesus is alive. He may not walk this earth, but he lives. God lives in the Heart of all that believe and worship him.

The Bible describes God as "The Living God", He is "alive" by the virtue of the fact that He acts; you are interpreting the word "living" very literally. God has a "mind" (obviously not as we understand it), and use of this mind would make him 'living'.
The adjective 'living' is used also to discriminate Yahveh God from the 'dead' gods (i.e. the false ones)

When they say 'God is alive' I think it is metaphorically speaking. It just means God is with me, by my side, always there to protect me, etc.

Thank you for poitning this out. You see, this is why I'm athiest. There are just toomany conflicting things in the bible, and in Christianity in general. I can't believe I haven't noticed this before. So thank you, thank you, thank you! You are so right. I can't wait to see how the Christians explain this. Their going to be pretty pissed. But I know you probably won't care, I never do.
