Exodus 21:20-21 – "If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property."

Colossians 3:22-24 – "Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."

Ephesians 6:5 - "Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ."

1 Peter 2:13 - "Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every authority instituted among men: whether to the king, as the supreme authority."

then why would he make a terrible sinful Earth? Why wouldent he just make a perfect world where we could all be happy? why would he send people to a terrible place place called "hell" just because we dident say some prayer. If he really exists and he is perfect why would he even ever make "sin"?

Like, suppose you're in love with a man / woman, whatever suits you, and he/she's perfect. Well as close as you can get to perfection, but he or she denounces the existence of god (like i do). Would you put him or her for the choice of either conversion or leaving ? And suppose he or she wants to get married (if you asked) but not for the Church, would you cancel the whole thing ? I'm just curious to see your answers...

do you think it is wrong for people to change the Bible to fit their own needs and desires? and if yes, do think it is wrong for people to follow these people and read from these Bibles?

i have many Christian friends who say that the Bible has been changed, so they can eat pork, and do other things, that originally they could not do. i am Muslim and it is haram(very bad) to change the word of Allah, so i was wondering if it is bad for Christians too. because for us once you change the word of God it is no longer the word of God, do you agree?

i don't want to debate the Quran or Bible itself, i just want to know the Christian stance on people changing it. because i know Thomas Jefferson wrote his own Bible, so did King James- i can't remember the reason why he did, but i do know he did, and so did King Henry i can't remeber which one. but people still read from these books and consider them God's word event though these people have changed it.

Physicists said they can create "incredible levitation effects" by manipulating so-called Casimir force, which normally causes objects to stick together by quantum force.

This article proves that there is Magick and it remains Magick, until scientist finally catch up. They have now taken the first step in removing levitation from Magick and all those who say "that's just a bunch of Witch talk." and Mythology.

Are mainstream religions working together to keep the world in turmoil so that they can keep and increase the people and money that fear and strife generates? People would turn away from religion and God if there was no reason to call on him for protection! Your thoughts?

1st commandment: you shall have no other gods before me.

Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me
John 7:16

Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:
John 8:54

And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Matthew 19:17

do you pick the verses that fit with your desires and throw the rest behind your back like it never there? you pick the verse that says "me and God is one" which litteraly does not mean Jesus is God, but it can be explained as Jesus can't do or say anything except with God permission. did Moses worship the trinity or only the God who sent him?

According to Richard Dawkins' book "The Blind Watchmaker" the theory of evolution says that God is like a blind watchmaker who designed the world. I haven't actually read the book because it had too many big words. I'm just assuming that the theory of evolution claims that God is a blind watchmaker because that assumption helps my argument.

The idea of a blind watchmaker making the entire universe is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. My uncle was a watchmaker until he went blind. After that he couldn't even design watches anymore. Are we expected to believe that a watchmaker who went blind was capable of designing the entire universe? Of course not!

God is not a blind watchmaker, but an intelligent being who can see. God's sight was crucial to creating the universe. If the theory of evolution predicts that God is a blind watchmaker, evolution must be false. Since creationism is the only alternative, it must be true!

The Intelligent Atheist say: The flashlight shines light until the batteries run out of electricity.
The Theist say: The flashlight creates a vacuum that pulls in the dark storing it in the batteries.

The flashlight goes dead.

Atheist: The batteries are out of electricity.
Theist: The batteries are full of dark.

God: Your light bulb has burnt out.

Today I got spammed by a Christian liar. Not all Christians are liars, not all liars are Christian, but this was a deliberate LIE on her part.

Often, quite often, Christians complain that non-Christians hold them to a higher standard, but I am seriously asking why on earth non-Christians would be interested in following a religion that Christians clearly struggle to follow?

I am not interested in changing religion, but I can say most assuredly that I am deaf to the sales pitch of people who don't seem to be buying what they are selling themselves.

Seriously, if you can't be bothered to follow your religion, and you're the type who thinks I should follow your religion, don't you think that you should follow it first?

Why should I buy something when the salesman clearly wouldn't?

There is no "nice" way to ask that but I am asking it honestly. I see here people saying all the time that people aren't Christians because "they are arrogant" or "they follow the devil". But everyone has a story, I am one of them. It's not as simple as many "assume" it to be. And if you "assume" why someone isn't a Christian, then just how do you expect to sincerly "reach" them?

Gene mutations result in new alleles, and are the source of variation within populations. Gene mutations are ultimately behind the other mechanisms that provide variation. Due to DNA replication and DNA repair mechanisms, mutation rates of individual genes are low, but since each organism has many genes, and a population has many individuals, new mutations arise in populations all the time. So, mutations are relatively common, and the mutation rate is an adequate source of new alleles. High levels of molecular variation are common in natural populations, although many mutations (usually recessive) are hidden.

The mutation rate varies greatly among species and even among genes of an individual. Mutations are caused by errors in DNA replication, chemicals, or radiation. Large scale effects of mutation result only when mutation is combined with other factors that reshuffle the gene pool.

The good Christian should beware the mathematician and all those who make empty prophecies. The danger already exists that the mathematicians have made a covenant with the devil to darken the spirit and to confine man in the bonds of hell.
-Saint Augustine, 354–430

We know that mathematics (number theory, if you will) are used to prove many hypotheses, thus elevating them to the status of "Theory." Did Augustine imbue Christianity with a fear of mathematics and a distrust for science because of his own refusal to accept fact over the musings of shepherds?

Other than the fact that Christianity is based completely around the idea of a human sacrifice, I would have to say the idea of the trinity is the most obvious as far as moronic beliefs.

Christians try to tell me, "Well, if you drop 3 rocks into a bucket, then they are separate, but in the same vessel," or "The trinity is like aquafresh toothpaste, 3 flavors in one". Do they ever stop and THINK about what they are saying? Good hell.

Without science they would not be typing their nonsense answers at this very moment, right?

If religion dictated technological advances, and not scientific theories and research, then we would still be in the bronze age, killing each other with sticks, and threatening death and burning in hell as our only way of communication rather than the net.

How can theists enjoy all these scientific advancements without being complete hypocrites? Let me guess, God inspired the scientists to build things like computers, cars, and x-boxes? Hmmm. That's odd, last time I checked scientists were working for the devil right? Give me a fu*king break.

His account was deleted thanks to a bunch of fundies who could dish it out but not take it. He was honest, real...he probably forced alot of you to look at things you weren't willing to face. He wasn't anymore harsh than some of the bible thumping hell and damnation christians I have seen on R&S. The difference was he acknowledged his pain and experienced it the best way he could as opposed to pretending and passive aggresive behavior that so many christians practice. For now he is gone - our loss. Hopefully he will decide to come back for more thought provoking questions!
