I agree, atheism is an indication of an evolved mind beyond those of our fellow humans who viciously cling to their nonsensical dogma. But, evolution is a messy process and we have to give the rest of the world time to phase into the next level that we have luckily already reached. I'm trying to develop other evolved traits by experimenting with telekinesis and remote viewing. I need alot of practice, but I can't say I've had no incourageing results. :)

Because the word "evolve" has to do with the very gradual biological adjustments that occur over a long period of time to living matter.... plants and animals..... to bring that particular living thing into a better state of suitability to its prevailing environments. It has nothing to do with the way we humans make our decisions, and do our personal thinking and come to conclusions about what we do or do not believe. All of this is powerfully influenced by the socializing process to which we were subjected from the day we were born., by the adults who nurture and raise us, and teach us what they themselves grew up and went through life believing..... within the family..... in the school system...... in the places of worship, and the general society in which that individual is born and raised.
All of these factors contribute to our process of individual indoctrination... one human being at a time, depending on the infinite variety of circumstances each person is exposed to and affected by in the most formative years of life. There, but for a pure chance of fate, might you yourself be right now..... living in a Muslim environment, the child of a Muslim upbringing, and indoctrinated from birth to a hatred and fear of all cultures outside of your own. It is a seemingly mystical saying that "the child is the father of the man" but not when you think about it. You grow from childhood to be pretty much the adult you were indoctrinated to become when you were young and impressionable, and your brain was like a sponge, sopping up everything that was fed into it by those who had the control over you, and the opportunity to do so. Even within a single family, oftentimes four or five siblings who were raised the same, grow up to be very different in the way they think and believe and act as adults. There is always a certain "hard core" of basic indoctrination that remains lodged in all those siblings, but occasionally when someone is a particularly strong minded individual, he can break some of those bonds and fly free of them. But the indoctrination of the individual child, in the individual home and that unique set of circumstances, is what makes the difference ultimately between one human being and another for the rest of life.

There will always be different people of different beliefs. However, it seems there is a slow pull away from organized religion over the past several years. Not sure that means that everyone is becoming an atheist, just means they are finally leaving behind the primitive ideals of the bible and church and opening their minds more.

Since when do all things evolve simultaneously? There is always the freak mutation who has a slight advantage over his ordinary peers, and evolution happens as those ordinary peers gradually lose the battle over a long period of time.

You are a very silly person, if you actually believe that being an Atheist is one of the steps of evolution. That is the funniest thing I have ever heard!!!

What I sense in you is that somehow you think that atheism is somehow a better class of people, that you are somehow better, more intelligent than a person who steps out in faith?
If atheism is going to leave me thinking that somehow I'm of a higher class and that people who believe are to be pitied, than I think I'll stay with a belief system that shows me how to love others and is teaching me day by day how to serve others and to take into consideration their needs and feelings.

Well, if you value science above religion, consider this: the majority of theoretical physicists, the guys who really understand the laws of the universe? Most of 'em are deists. Why would that be? Are people with a predisposition to religion attracted to the most advanced science in the world?

I believe this will happen one day, and everybody will evolve, but give it some time and be patient.

Who's to say what is right...you? And why you? Why not me? Why not Adam West, for that matter. What's right for one is wrong for another.

It takes a while for a better trait to infiltrate the entire population. I.e. religion will be slowly phased out.
