I would feel the same way if I hadn't learned a few things about the purpose of earth life.
Earth life represents a very short but potentially very valuable opportunity for our growth and development. Our Heavenly Father prepared the earth with conditions such that many of us would be able to develop a better understanding of the difference between right and wrong. That's why there are competing "truths" and people are free to make good and bad choices. Natural disasters help create these learning experiences.
To illustrate, consider that I tell my children not to lie and why this is important. Hopefully they'll obey, but they will probably gain some insight into this principle of happiness as they experience what happens when a relationship is damaged due to dishonesty.
Earth life can help us to develop a true understanding of the principles of happiness that goes beyond just believing someone because they are a parent or a powerful being. Some other important principles are:
- serving others brings joy (e.g., feeding the hungry)
- a good deal of happiness can come through family relationships
- riches of the world don't bring lasting happiness
This isn't just speculation on my part. As He has done in the past, God once again speaks through prophets to help us understand the truth. Take a look at some of the great videos at the web site noted below.

If there is a God, I could never suppose to know why these things happen. None of us (humans) know for sure. That's the greatest mystery of all time.
Live your life well. Don't get bogged down in rhetoric or dogma. Be kind and loving. If God exists then you'll have little to worry about. Hedge your bets like most of us do.
Take Care ;)

Which God? Zeus or Mithra; Jehovah or Ra; Sango or Vishnu? - all creatures of overwrought human imagination! Hear Michael Martin:
"On most interpretations of the theistic God, He desires His creatures to love Him. However, the mystery of evil conflicts with this desire. It is difficult for rational humans to love God when they do not understand why there is so much evil. If the reasons for evil are beyond humans ken, God could at least make THIS abundantly clear. Why does He not do so? Moreover, why does not an all-powerful God have the power to raise human intelligence so humans can understand why there is so much evil? If there is reason for not doing this, then why is THIS not made clear? There is mystery on top of mystery here which seems to conflict explicitly with God's desire to be loved."

Overpopulation is the cause of most starvation. Some will say that the land can't produce enough food for the people. The real peoblem is that there are too many peole for the amount of food that the land can produce.
Whenever starving people are shown on TV, notice the number of kids. They don't have food, but they sure do have sex.

God gives us the means to help that kind of situation. We have the technology to grow enough food to feed the world if we stopped wasting energy on useless things. The reason people don't end the useless things shows the median level of consciousness on the planet at the present time. Not very evolved.

Who says God has to be involved in anything? God is whatever you need. As for me, I can't deny that I exist, that the Universe exists, and even though there may be no reason, there IS something external I don't understand that created this reality. May I call it God?

1) Of course. He's God.
2) I don't know. Perhaps you should ask Him?
3) It's good to know that you are so much more caring than God. (That was sarcasm, in case you didn't recognize it.)

P.S. How many people did *you* provide for today? I'll bet God provided for more.

God doesn't owe any of us any explanations. He does what He wants for the betterment of mankind. When He created this world He already knew what would happen to it and He knows what will happen to each and every one of us before we are even born.
God allows things to happen to get our attention in hopes that one of us will do something about it.
Don't like what's going on in your world? Then get up out of your chair and do something about it.

But since you're not transcendant, how can you think as a human of being transcendant? It doesn't at all mean God doesn't exist. You aren't looking at the full picture. Email me at xtreme_devotion_120@yahoo.com, would love to discuss with you.
