I actually enjoy Orion. I have chatted w/ him some. And, although I don't agree with much of what he has to say . . .when you tear away some of the outside he seems like a normal man who is hurting. I have no problems w/ Orion and have never and would never report him. . .Freedom of Speech.

Yes, I do, even though he & I butted heads Ideologically more than once!!! I Truly wanted to "Help" him as his "Outlook on God & Life" was very "Dark" according to his "Posts" (Questions???). In being here 6 months, I Never Once saw him Answer a Q. to "Help" someone Else!!! That is Very Sad as the Whole Purpose of Y/A is the "Helping" of Others!!! Many here have "Pain & Suffering", that is a "Part of Life", but what makes one a "Winner" is "How U Deal with It"!!! What is a "Passive Aggressive Behavior", Oxymoron??? Why is it "Presumed" that Christians "Pretend" Anything??? Christ said that He will "Bear our Pain & Suffering" as He did our Sins on the Cross & that when We Accept Him, He will Send to Us the "Comforter" the Holy Spirit!!! Why do U think Christians Volunteer their Time & Effort Here if Not to Reach Out to People like Orion to show them what has Worked for Them in "Relieving Their Pain & Suffering"??? U say Orion was Honest, ok, but only to a "Degree" as his Questions never were about his "Pain & Suffering", only about "Challenging God", through "Christian and Bible Slams"!!! Despite "Posts" to the Contrary, Christians are Not Stupid or Insensitive! We All Knew there was an "Underlying Reason, Pain, Suffering" causing him to "Strike Out" at God, through the Christians here as Gods' "Representatives"??? But Orion it seems could not "Open Up" enough to ask for Help. Yes, I Will Miss him & We All Pray for "Answers" to his Lifes Problems. John

I do miss him, very much. I was fond of him and respected him, and the feeling was mutual. But I also became quite concerned for him of late, and just a day or two ago I thought that perhaps it would be good for him to take a breather away from R&S for a while. I'm sad that he was forced out, but some of his last posts in his Orion incarnation did cross a line from contempt into outright "hate speech" for lack of a better and less PC term. The only reason I wasn't personally offended was because of my acquaintance with him over the months; I therefore knew to whom his remarks were directed. But the fact remains that he went a touch too far. It happens. There is much to anger someone here, if one allows it. I hope to see him back to his usual thought-provoking posts soon, as this community is diminished without his voice.

Hello-
Now I saw 2 of Orion's posts and I did get annoyed at first
but then I realized he wasn't like some of the atheists
are on here! I am fairly new and I never looked at all his
posts though.
The one post he stated there were only 6 true Christians
here. Is he a true atheist? What does that really
mean, true Christian? I have my faults, I admit it. I
don't think anyone is perfect, that is what I think of
when I hear the words, true Christian. It sounded like
he was a Judge, judging all of us and that is what
annoyed me.
There's good and bad believers and non believers.
Believe or don't believe, it's your choice. I have
friends at work who are atheists and we do not
talk about this. We talk about everything else and can
be there for each other.
Breakfast Monkey- Thanks for not lumping all Christians
the same!
Since I just heard about his late son, is Orion seeing a
therapist for his anger issues?
I went to a therapist.

If the reason why Orion doesn't believe in God is because
of what happened, I can almost relate to it. I say almost
because at one time, I was close to turning against
God but didn't. I lost a few people in two years, one
being my best friend and my Mom and what happened with her. I don't go to church because of what happened
to my Mom though. I have not found one I trust yet.
I hope Orion is doing okay.

I don't miss him, and I'm an Atheist.
His questions were largely self-centered. When he wasn't saying "validate me" he was doing ad homenium attacks. He gave Atheists a bad name by calling everyone "KKKristians" and lumping all Christians in the same category.
I think when we attempt reasonable conversation instead of name-calling, we'll get more accomplished. If he can "behave" I hope he comes back. But if he continues to act like a 12-year-old on a tirade, I hope he stays away.

Yes, I'm especially going to miss the way he referred to Christians as "kkkristians". Oh yeah and it was so nice when he accused God of drowning infants. Sure, he was great.
Look, I always tried to be respectful and courteous to him. I obviously didn't agree with him and didn't appreciate the way he spoke, but I never reported him. I only posted my differences of opinion to his questions. Just because he doesn't agree with or believe in God doesn't give him the right to trash God in that way either. I've seen many Atheists who are very courteous and friendly in stating their opinions and I greatly respect them for that.
FYI, the boy in the picture with him was his late son, who died right around his 5th birthday. He once posted a 'question' about him. Perhaps that explained why he was so bitter towards God. I and many other people offered sincere condolences. Never got even a thanks, which is ok. And I tried to offer courteous advice, which was not related to God too. But either way, I don't think that justifies his repeated actions or meanness towards people on Y!A.

yes I do miss him, sometimes he would loose me somewhere in his questions, but I never found anything so bad as to report him over and was actually answering his question when it disappeared yesterday. I loved the whole santa claus look with his grand kid too. Maybe he will come back under a different name, we can only hope!

I think it is a shame to lose any sincere answerer on here, simply because someone disagrees with them.
I may have not agreed with everything that he stands for, but I was never offended by him. We all have the right to stand for and speak our beliefs...

I miss him very much. He always put a smile on my face and asked the hard questions people were afraid to ask. I didn't agree with him on everything but he was my friend and I Really hope he comes back!
