Do drunks, addicts, prostitutes, gays, hynocrits and other such belong in church? Would you walk up and shake their hand if one came? Would you invite them to sit with you and stay for the picnic?

I can't believe how that worked so easily. The question in details is word for word what Yahoo wouldn't post. Go figure.

rp; I think you would know if you saw them at church. They'll be the ones standing alone wondering if they are dressed ok.

yes, of course, hospitals aren't for doctors, but for the wounded, I'm out in the parking lot before service and between service trying to find good spots for them (and everyone else), and make sure they feel welcome, as far as dress code, if they're wearing socks, there one up on our minister, and if not, there still dressed nicer then my brother, and we've been going for 7 years

Why not. Leave the hynocrits? out or did you mean hypocrites? If you did yeah leave them out! However drunks and addicts are individuals who have a disease. Did not Jesus go to the to those who suffered from Leprosy a disease! Prostitutes? Why not this one is simple.
Mary Magdalene ! Do you think gay people don't have the right to worship God? Like I wrote at first you can leave out the hynocrits and the hypocrites out, but don't be a hypocrite about the others.
I would shake their hands, chat with them and invite them to the picnic! But pleassssseee keep them Fu*king Hypocrites away from the church and the picnic area !!!!

Churches are really country clubs for people who believe in the same interpretation of the bible.
Christians hate to hear this, but if they took the time to look at the church budget, they would realize that it mirrors a country club exactly.
Drug addicts, prostitutes and gays are not usually welcome in institutions that are paid for and supported by pious people. Almost all the money given by parishoners to churches, goes towards, mortgage payments, utility bills and comfort items like new carpet and donuts. Not to mention a paycheck for the church leaders.
Country clubs are exactly the same. Members are not inclined to let outsiders in, especially if they are unable to help support the club.
Every now and then a country club will hold a charitable event, like a golf tournament, to help the community, churches do exactly the same thing. They have can drives and bottle drives and do Christmas gift wrapping, all in the name of charity, but it is a drop in the bucket compared to the money spent on the existing membership and building.
Christianity is just another form of human exclusivity, I beg you to look at your church books and budgeting and ask yourself whether Jesus meant for his followers to build real estate ownership or help the needy?

I have, I will, and i would... They belong there, and i have seen so many prost, drunks, addicts, and even gays, who have changed, its not so much that the christians think they are too good for them, but its fear of the unknown. How do you go up to them? Are they mean? Will they reject what you tell them? How do you tell them they are sinning without losing them? Its something that ppl just dont know how to face. i love everyone in my church and its something that i have had to live with in my own family, and its like Jesus, he didnt judge only loved... i will not lie that its painful when someone you love goes astray and will not return, but i have learned and that is why when ppl like you mentioned take the time to go to church, i make it a point to talk to them. if noone talks to them, how will they know that we should be imitators of Jesus and not just selfish, because were "already saved"?

I have an Italian young man staying with me for a few weeks as part of an exchange program. Getting to know his version of Christianity has been refreshing. He's appalled by the American version of Christianity. He says all they preach is the opposite of what Christ taught. He says Christ taught about love and acceptance.
So, yes. I think they belong in Church. And Christians shouldn't be "too good" to talk to them and hug them. Christ was about love, not intolerance.

Do you have any thought how many cases this ineffective horse has been overwhelmed? 4 years in the past a profile asked and quoted Corinthians verses approximately this comparable ingredient dissimilar cases each day. ultimately after the different "record abuse" countless cases each day, his account grew to become into deleted. (harassment to females people) Are you optimistic you decide directly to bypass down this street? (all persons have the comparable constitutional rights). The Bible isn't completely remarkable because it is been rewritten countless cases and the words replaced to extra wholesome different international locations and religions. because of the fact of this there are such various Christian church homes as no 2 are the comparable in simple terms because of the fact all of us interpret the scriptures in any different case. The Bible grew to become into no longer written via God. in the outdated testomony are 35 books written via adult males and a pair of written via women people. in the hot testomony there are 27 books.

All belong in church. I don't think anyone would deny that. But it is a different matter when it comes to church membership.

They should be welcome. The church I attend would welcome them. There are churches who wouldn't.
Church is a way of life not a building. You do what Jesus did. You love the ALL. You teach them ALL. You feed them ALL.
You have to show HIS compassion and love. if you can't do that, take the 2-by-four out of your own eye before you attempt to remove the splinter from your own.

I'm a drunk and an addict and I think I'm a hynocrits too. People welcome me every time I come. Who would of thought huh?
Personally I care much more about people's relationship with Jesus then their relationship with the world.
