Seems like another case of Big Brother rearing his ugly head in the name of "peace and safety". Now in May 2008, the law will require all states to issue cards to everyone, drivers and non drivers alike, and submit their information to a federal database. This is no longer a conspiracy, it was signed into law May 2005. Are we going to need a license just to enter buildings now?

I guess you all know that the RFID microchip has already been implanted into several of the military if not all of them. A friend said they offered to do it, but the way I see it you will do what ever the Military tells you to do. They are also wanting to implant it into babies as soon as they are born, you know so in case they were to get kidnapped or lost. Kind of like the Child I.D. cards with there fingerprints on them. I didn't let my kids get them. If they ever need fingerprints there all over the house. I though only criminals had to give up there fingerprints. Oh and something else all of the Federal prisoners not only have given fingerprints, but when they take their photo they capture a identity iris of the eye. And I think most Christians realize the difference between the mark of the beast, and gov. control. And besides the Mark of the Beast doesn't come into the picture until the 7 year Tribulation.

And we all know that our Cell Phone are nothing more than a tracking device. They can pinpoint your location at anytime, just by the signal the phone gives out. So if you don't want tracked turn your phone off or strap it on your dog and turn him loose.

Oh and don't look up or you'll be able to buy your photo on line for three bucks.

Actually, it's still in court and new suits are being filed. The States are ticked off, not only about privacy concerns, but about yet another unfunded mandate that could send the fee for a Driver's License to $50 or more--and they know that the voters will blame them. Plus, having a single national ID makes life a lot easier for counterfeiters.

If the Govt wants such high level tracking on US Residents, all they have to do is open an account with Experian. I would be interested to know if the barcode contains the number "666."

And Dvamp, it's illegal in most cities. The cops get pretty upset when they stop you and can't do a warrant check. I happen to have my DL# memorized and Chicago cops always settle for that. Good thing. Because I look like a lot of people they're looking for.

I'll get an ID card...as long as it is a card...I think I'd draw the line at a subcutaneous microchip or a tattoo on my forehead but a card to use government and public services doesn't really bother me...except for the cost to tax payers!

I remember being shocked to learn that I had to apply for a social security number for my son when he was born (he's six now)...I didn't apply for a social security card until I was of working age.

Now if they could just use this card to get rid of all the other red-tape and cards I'm forced to carry already, that would be a neat trick. If it was also encoded as my driver license, my medical insurance card, my MasterCard and Visa, my social security card, and everything else, that would be nice! Imagine how much time it would save if I just scanned my card when I needed to take money out of my bank account, fill out a W-4 or I-9 form for a job, fill out one of those long worthless medical forms, etc...!

I think it's a great idea, especially if these ID cards will be unavailble to illegal aliens. It would be an easy way to crack down on illegal immigration and provide better national security.

If the card is used for identifying people, I have no problem with it. However, if it is used for tracking the locations of citizens who are not committing crimes, then I see it as a violation of privacy.

A great many Christians are going to scream Mark of the Beast on this one.

Exactly how do they plan to implement this. Will the doors of buildings be fixed so you have to swipe the card to enter? Will it require the card to purchase goods? I would like to see the answers to these questions before I decide anything, and I would also like to know where you got your information.

"Are we going to need a license just to enter buildings now?"

Umm, actually on my last two jobs they did require an ID to enter the building and on the last one, for the elevator, closets, my work area, etc, and it wasn't even a government job. Go figure.

I'm not happy about it, but what can anyone do? The sneaky bastards slipped it into a military spending bill, which made it near impossible to vote against.

If they ever go the route of ID chip implants, I'm gone.

I wonder why they even waste time with the Real ID Act?

Why not just implant a microchip in everyone that has a GPS transponder in it?

That way, not only will the govt. know instantly who you are, but where you are instantly as well.

(sarcasm)

I will go and get an ID.

I've known this for some time.................what else can we do? We are already tracked from birth -- I don't like it, but I will obey the laws. It's not the mark of the beast or anything.......
