You have 30 minutes to tell me why I should believe in God. By the way, you'd better be pretty persuasive.

I'm tired of being told that I "should" believe, when no one says WHY.

So, now, please tell me WHY.

30 Minutes.

GO.

THAT'S IT, I'M CONVERTED!!!

Now, where do I get my cookie?

So far, very few of you are seeing my point.

CJ did, however.

THERE IS NO POINT in telling me that I "should" believe in God.

Because it's MY belief. You can tell me FACTS, and SUPPORTING EVIDENCE, but just telling me that I "should" is ineffective and worthless.

No one can answer that. You need to convince your self. It's your journey of life. Do you always do what others tell you to do in your life. if you can't figure it out by your self, no one can help you. Why don't you start reading....that's start. But do not limit your self to religions popular in the West. Try expanding your mind by reading Eastern religions. Try reading literature from the East. You would be amazed.

Why should you believe in God?

Many people find great comfort in believing there is a big, nebulous dude in the sky who actually has a plan for this whole, crazy, mixed-up insane looking mish-mash we call existence.

Many people find great comfort in believing that the sky-dude loves them, forgives all of their sins, and will have a big, steaming cup of cocoa and a comfy chair waiting for them when they die.

Those seem like pretty good reasons as to WHY you'd want to believe in God.

It might be more difficult to answer HOW. As in, how to believe in some miraculous sky-dude when you don't see any evidence that he exists?

Even the demons "believe". You should have a relationship with God because not only will He help you discover blessings in your current life, but He offers the free gift of salvation and eternal life to His followers. All for just being one of His followers. Is that enough of a "why" for you?

Why ask why, you already believe in Christ but are hesitant to come closer because you truly don't understand the love he offers. You have always had love that has conditions and that is not Jehovah Eloyhim.

The only why is what you want it to be.
Ohhh look at me being all deep and stuff.
You shouldn't believe for any other reason then YOU want to or DO and it should be the Gods you have met and have experienced.
Or not.
In the end its who you ARE that matters, right?

Believe in whatever the hell you want; its your life - despite what people say, there will never be a good arguement to believe or disbelieve. Its just opinions.

The only reason you "should" believe in God is because you believe in God. There's not reasons, per se. It's an ontological problem. If you don't believe in God we can huff and puff all we want but it won't make it true to you.

What you "should" do is study the subject yourself, instead of relying on other people to supply you their arguments for or against.
