their is a law that say we r not aloud 2 have religious acts in public. which keeps anything prayer(and other Christian things) out of school but it doesnt stop atheism(which is considered the religion or having no religion by the government). by not having religous events(such as prayer) in school they r making us be do religious acts of atheism. so why dont we Christians do something about that(like use it somehow 2 get prayer back in schools).

It probably won't happen. You will have to continue to pray before school and secretly.
I will be praying for mine before classes begin anyways.

Well, first of all, the public schools are not the State. They should be as they were before, controlled and operated locally. If most of the "local" citizens want pray in schools then it should be so.

The bastardization of the Constitution and bill of rights by a minority of the people has forced the beliefs of the few onto the many. And we let this happen. The minority has used the courts to change laws, change the meanings of laws, and basically force the views of the few forward.

George Washington spoke of this many times and warned that it might happen. The bill of rights has been used to give special rights to some while denying the same rights to others. This was not what the bill of rights was intended to do.

Christians are by far the large majority in our country and we need to use the same tactics that the minority does. Bring court cases, push for our rights, and basically get back the Right to freedom of religion that the minority has taken away from us.

Kids have the right to pray in school. Teachers don't have the right to force them to pray however.

Imagine if prayer was reinstated, and classrooms all recited the Lord's Prayer to start the day.

What version of the Lord's prayer should be used. There is a dispute amongst many Christians about what the proper interpretation of the Lords prayer is. If it is being used in public schools then there would invariably be a lawsuit from one group against the schools for not properly interpreting the prayer.

Religion is really about disagreement, and letting that into schools is a bad idea.

You want prayers back in school? OK which prayer from which religious denomination? Chance are you want Christianity right? Well how would you react if it was Scientology? Or Protestant? Or Islam?

See that is one of the reason why prayers in public school should not be allowed. By the time you make everyone happy with all the various religions out there; there will be no time for students to learn anything by the time they are done prayer to every type of god from A to Z.

Why don't the Christians go to private Christian schools where they can pray all day long...

Public schools are for the public...the entire public not just the Christians. Separation of church and state keeps prayer out of schools not freedom of religion.

Taking prayer out of schools isn't just about the atheists it's about everyone Theology discriminates against or for.

A prayer is a silent whisper from the heart. It is spoken privately between a person and whicher "Deity" they choose to honor.
Prayers can be said ANY TIME>>>ANY WHERE!!!
Our Government is honoring the respect to ALL religions and beliefs by not FORCING all children to pray to the Christain God in a Christian manner.
Besides...waht do you plan on doing? Rally all the Christians, kill or burn anyone who does not believe as you do? Been there, done that...NO THANKS!!!

It's called RESPECT!!!!!
Freedom OF Religion mean ALL Religion!!!!

Walk in the light of wisdom....Blessed Be

I'm a Christian and i think that is a dumb idea. That is because there are many religions out there. So every day the children of school would name like 600 gods from the religions combined. Wasting like 12 hours on praying to 600 gods is over doing it. Atheism isn't being pushed in schools. Its your choice, respect that man. By the way notice in the pledge of allegiance "Under God".

And would you want a bunch of satanists doing some creepy ritual with blood during Chemistry?

Atheism is a branch of witchcraft, it is rebellion against God.
(1 Sam 15:23 KJV) For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
As evidence, before the 1960's there was no such things as separation of church and state, during the 1960's the United States had many riots which was based upon Rebellion against the establishment. That opened the door to witchcraft to flourish which brought abortion and other abominations forth.

I teach in the public schools. What religious acts of atheism are we doing? I'm teaching lit analysis and writing. Students and teachers are free to pray alone or in groups, out loud or silently. However, I do not want school led prayer.

With all due respect, you can pray in school, you can pray in a government building...you can pray anywhere you want. Remember, God is everywhere, and if he is in your heart, he will hear your prayer, no matter where you are.

The thing is, you cannot force other's to pray, that is wrong.

What do you think about the Hindu priest who opened with a prayer at the Senate? Would you be o.k. with your children being forced to say or listen to a Hindu prayer?

To all you out there who says atheism is not a religion consider this. It takes a great deal of faith to believe there is nothing out there. Far more faith indeed then to believe there is a life after death and that there is indeed a creator. However you are free to hold your own personal opinions. That however is where the line is drawn. Each and every one of us must make our own choices in life and we cannot force those around us to conform to our own personal beliefs. If a greater majority desires to maintain prayer or practices which expresses their faith (in a peaceful manner of course) then go for it. If they want the 10 commandments in their courthouses then so be it. Who are we to force others to conform?
Personally I too am a Christian. I would not force others to become a Christian. God wishes for individuals to choose of their own volition to come to him and repent of their sins. So to all you ACLU members and atheists simply stay out of such matters. Let folks pray or hold services as they wish. The only reason such practices would be stopped is if you (ACLU/atheists) were unsure of your own beliefs.
Later days and God bless!!!
