Themselves.
They may think they're praying to some god or other, but really they're just talking to themselves.
God doesn't exist. Religions are just superstition.

As a Catholic...
I pray to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit...
I also ask the Saints to pray for me...
Mar 12:26 "But regarding the fact that the dead rise again, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the passage about the burning bush, how God spoke to him, saying, 'I AM THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, AND THE GOD OF ISAAC, and the God of Jacob'?
Mar 12:27 "He is not the God of the dead, but of the living; you are greatly mistaken."
Jas 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.
See the difference?

I pray to one god, of the christian faith who I believe is the only God and created the heavens and earth and was cool enough to let His son die for me so I can go to Heaven one day....
As far as guidelines, I try to talk to Him like I would any other person, He knows me best and so I don't see the point in trying to cover "me" up with fancy speech. I pray all the time, more when I need stuff, but I do try to thank Him for all he has given me and prevented from happening to me, I really should do that more often.

I pray to the one and only God. My Lord and Savior. I pray anywhere, anytime, and about anything! I don't really use ''guidelines'' persay, I just talk to Jesus like I would talk to a friend. He knows all about everything I ask or tell Him already. He's heard everything under the sun, and in Heaven--EVERYWHERE! He gives me amazing confidence, love, security, care, and everyother adjective that fits the description! I love to talk to my Father, and He loves to talk to me--what more could I, or anyone ask for?
Have a Great day in the Lord Jesus Christ,
Rachel--The Christian =)

One God
I pray similar to the Lord's Prayer outlined by Jesus in Matthew 6:9
All the time I pray...not only to ask but to thank.

I dont consider myself to belong to one religion. To me, you cant belong to a religion without leaving someone else out. Most religions tell you that yours is right and others are not. I believe that God loves us all. I try not to call it God, becuase this higher power that i believe in rules over everyone, and every religion (to me) He/she/it loves us all, and wants nothing from us but to live happy, fullfilling lives. So when I pray, I pray to it, but I am also praying to the universe, because i think he/she/it's enegy is all around me all the time. I pray everyday, sometimes many times a day. There are no guidlines. I simply focus on my prayer, and its intent, and send it out. I know it will be heard, recieved, and answered. I never doubt it, and I show everyday how grateful I am.

I pray to ONE GOD about every situation, problem, etc. Even though God knows your problems, He still wants you to pray and talk with Him about it. He wants to have a good relationship with you.
