I see absolutely no scriptural proof of such an event...Besides it was not too long ago that you claimed that Armageddon would come before that generation passed away.......now you don't believe that...I would also request that you use a bible besides the NWT for your proof...I have no faith in that particular bible.

If aprox 60% of people get civil marriages and those people don't get married by the Catholic church then are all those people living in sin?

Are all those marriages invalid?

What constitutes a marriage?

Is it how you are living as a married couple or the Church you were married in?

How many of you have had civil marriages?

Do you concider them valid regaurdless of what the church says?

Do you hate it when people tell you that you can't get married by your terms as if you had no free will at all?

I want to get married in the Church, but they tell me I can't until I go through annulments, confermation and all that will take aprox 2-3 years, until then I guess I'll get married in a civil setting...

What do you think of civil marriages VS. Church Marriages?

What do you think is your right as a person, do you have the right to choose or are you told what to do?

I'm a catholic, i guess you could say but im anything but a frequent churchgoer, i never practice any of the customs (such as fasting during lent), and ive only ever had two sacraments: baptism when i was 2 (im 16 now) and communion.

a couple years ago, Jehovah's Witnesses came to my house and I talked to them. it was a pretty intersting conversation and i was somewhat curious the religion but i never seriously consideed converting.

ive done a little more research since then and ive found that some things ive thought of before on my own, were also beliefs shared by them. however theres a few things about both religions that i just dont believe and dont see how i ever could.
what i need to know is how if i convert how much of my life will i have to change? is it required to follow every custom and belief? from what ive heard theyre pretty strct about stuff and i dont know if im ready for it...

As if nobody can love unless they are a Christian and yet Christians have spread more hate through history than anyone else.

For people that don't believe in a God, how do you feel about your life and what will happen when you die?
This in NOT to disrespect anyone, I am just curious. I hear so many opinions on R&S from non-believers how there is no God and the bible is false, so I was wondering if you felt like this what do you believe happens after death?

Okay so say I killed someone, not just someone, but say 200 people. All innocent too, and then I raped people....and puppies. I stole from the elderly, I did drugs, I beat up people, I broke all of God's rules, etc. etc.

At the age of 75 I'm finally caught, and as I sit alone in my cell, I finally start to feel bad for my actions. I ask, honestly wth all of my heart for Jesus to forgive me for my horrible life. I go to sleep, and die.

To I go to:

a) Heaven
b) Hell

If Heaven, explain to me why I get to go into Heaven while many good people will go to Hell?

I am a Catholic and I will be recieving my confirmation on september 10th. Also for my chuch classes I have to choose a patron saint and do a project over it and they want it to be out patron saint. If you are a Catholic can you tell me who is your patron saint and how you chose them? It might help me in deciding. I have looked at many lists but I can't find anything that relates to me. I'm sixteen but I don't want a patron saint of youth because I know I'm not going to be young forever!

Say a small, white, round button with a red circle on the edge and a red diagonal line through it and in the background a black cross and the black silhouette of a man standing behind a pulpit and holding up an open book.

I'm not saying I'd wear one myself (Canada is -so- different from America), but I'm pretty sure there is a market for it.

It would be a way for those who are tired of being preached at to signal other 'preachers' that they've heard the word and have rejected it.

What do you think?

In this forum, there are more atheists than any other thing. I just dont understand how someone can talk about a God they dont believe in. Atheist claim that they come to this forum because the questions appear in the main page of yahoo answers, which is false, if they say that so many question appear there.

My question is, why dont you attack other religions as your attack Christianity. I am not saying that you should, but why.
Many of the atheists behave in a immature way, making the most senseless questions. I am not saying all of the, but a big majority.

Sarcasm and atheists go hand by hand, not in all cases. Many of them may not have the knowledge or maturity to talk about the topic. Being an atheists is the easiest thing to do. all you have to do is believe in evolution and offend Christian.

The claim to be pissed off because Christian tell them they will burn for ever in hell. Real Christian do no say so, jut the fakes one. There is not eternal burning

So,why the hate?

I personally do not believe in "god" though America seems to try and force it down my throat..why must I say that "stupid" pledge of alleigance every day when I dont believe in "god" I don't really care if someone believes in a higher being controlling us..as long as it makes them a nice person, and their beliefs don't get in the way of relationships. But I want to know..how many people of of the billions of religous folk can prove to me that "god" or a higher being of power exists? If you ca nchange my mind about "god" I'll give you a million whatevers of your currency

With the answers that I received on this last question, why do people still say some aren't christian, just because their beliefs is different? According to the answers I received if we accept Jesus as our personal Saviour and accept is atoning sacrifice this is enough to make one christians, so why are JW's, Mormons, and Catholics excluded by most of Mainstream Christianity as being Christians?

When my husband was baptised there was a loud boom that sounded like a clap of thunder , and the pastor dropped to one knee in mid step , like he was knocked down . I felt strange , like I was watching a movie . It seemed to me that there was an odd cast of light , like lightening throws out , but that could have been my shock at the loud boom .It was so loud it made you gasp .The whole church became hushed , because as I was told later , no one had seen anything like that before . It took the pastor a minute to recover and go on with what he was saying . Before that , music had been playing through the sound system and the pastor questioned the person who ran the music he said "I didn't do it ". He later said that the sound wasn't on the tapes , and he could not explain where it came from . I was later baptised in that same church , and nothing even remotely similar to that happened . Please give me your interpetation of this , and have you ever witnessed anything like this .
