With the answers that I received on this last question, why do people still say some aren't christian, just because their beliefs is different? According to the answers I received if we accept Jesus as our personal Saviour and accept is atoning sacrifice this is enough to make one christians, so why are JW's, Mormons, and Catholics excluded by most of Mainstream Christianity as being Christians?

My question has nothing to do with which church is true.

Here is why I don't consider LDS Christians. The Bible says that if people say Jesus is in the desert or other places after he ascends to not believe it - It's not really Jesus, but a false Jesus! In Acts, we see Jesus ascend to Heaven.

Then Mormon's come and say he appeared in Central America after he ascended. I don't believe it. If someone follows a "false christ", that person is not a true Christian.

Here are the details if you want.

Matthew 24:23-27 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. (24) For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. (25) Behold, I have told you before. (26) Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. (27) For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Acts 1:9-11 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. (10) And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; (11) Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

So, this is basically the same answer I gave last time you asked this question. LDS worship a different Jesus and a different God than in the Bible.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not consider Jesus God, and therefore, their Christ is not the Christ of the Bible either. That's why I don't consider them Christians. Once again, following a false christ does not make a true Christian.

I never said Catholics are not Christians. A person can be a Catholic and may or may not be a Christian. A person can be a Baptist and may or may not be a Christian. Going to church does not make a person a Christian, but he/she could very well be one.

If you would like to follow the true Christ and believe the Bible instead of Joseph Smith, please see www.godlovestheworld.com and learn how you can go to Heaven. It's total grace, not grace plus works.

You have to realize that, by now, there are AT LEAST over 30,000 SEPARATE "Christian" GROUPS that exist throughout the world.

That would include the largest groups led by the Roman Catholic Church, then followed by all the largest Protestant denominations [Presbyterian, Episcopalian, Anglican, Lutheran, Methodist, Baptist, JWs, LDS/Mormons, Seventh Day Adventist, Wesleyan, Calvinist, Quaker, etc.], and then you have the non-denominational ["born again"/charismatic] Christian groups... all the way down to sub-groups such as the KKK, Jim Jones [of "Jonestown"], David Koresh [of Waco, Texas], etc.

Thus the plethora of Christendom as we know it today!

Surely, NO SINGLE GROUP can claim to be the "TRUE" church now, can they????

Peace be with you.

First of all, I've never heard Catholicism being called not Christian. Anyway, there are a few basic things you need to believe to be a Christian. One is the Trinity, another is Jesus' divinity, another is Jesus' humanity, and the list goes on. Important!: understand that "Christian" is not an honorary term; it is a descriptive term. The very doctrine of some non-Christian churches, such as Jehovah's Witness, proves that they should not call themselves Christian. It's just a matter of whether your beliefs define you as a Christian.

there are 2,500 denominations of protestantism.
the only thing that keeps them together is uniting against the catholics(which ironicly are the largest group of christians by far)

JW's and Mormons are different; they're still christian, but have the biggest change in beliefs.(JW's don't teach that Jesus was God, and Mormons believe Joseph Smith was a prophet)

Its debatable if they are Christians or not. Christianity is not based on works-Jehovah Wittiness, and we are warned not to add to or take away from the bible-Catholics and Mormons. There is only one book, the holy bible that we are to go by.

A Christian is very simply, a person who follows the teachings of Christ.

Check out the rest of their doctrines......

Their systems are flawed with heresy. I am not the judge of the living or the dead but.....it's pretty obvious that when you deny the Deity of Christ....you are denying God Himself. All one needs to do is read the book of 1 John to see this

Convenience. Christians deny alot of reality because they don't like said reality.
