I actually have a funny story about that song. On New Year's Eve going into 2000, some friends and I were hanging out in my apartment drinking. On a whim, I decided to call one of the local rock stations we listened to (KNDD 107.7, in Seattle) and request a song that I thought would fit going into the New Year. Remember the Y2K scare? So I requested that song (the REM one), and a little while later, the DJ played it, adding in that it was request from a little redhead from Tacoma (me, my hair's not red NOW, but it was then).
It was pretty sweet.
