I mean, he was an angel, far superior to mankind. If he didn't think it was worth asking for God's forgiveness so that he could go to heaven, then why should mankind do all of the groveling?

Perhaps it isn't so fantastic a place to be.

How are the teachings of Christianity any different from Greek Mythology, which most of us believe were just myths. The ancient greeks thought this was right but know we think/know it was wrong. How is Christianity any different, we basically know that it is wrong if you use logic and science?

TT has tried to back off asking offensive questions about Jesus and stuff like that but he got angry this morning because a bunch of Christians were insulting him. He has a bit of a temper sometimes and he reacted poorly. He says the w*nking question was out of line.

TT never means to insult anyone or their beliefs and he says his questions are meant in good fun.

(BTW, when he emailed me. He said he had a bad tempter.)

I just cannot get the concept of hell, many believe ,Christians and muslims, in hell as a place of eternal torment, fire, and blah, blah. It just does not make any sense, why eternal torment for a FINITE crime? IT IS NOT JUST. Even a bad person, does not deserve ETERNAL PUNISHMENT.
Many christians think that only Christians will be spared Damnation, WHY WOULD GOD HAVE CREATED HUMANS JUST TO PLAY A SALVATION GAME?
I really do not get it.
I am not atheist, I belive in a higher power, and do not think this power has a place of fire and torment for non believer. IT IS INSANE TO BELIEVE THAT. Why do many believe such a horrible thing?

I recently have been in conversation via e-mail with one over the meaning of cult, occult, and the connection that can be made to most if not all beliefs from the literal meaning from a dictionary.

I find that the word cult refers to a group that performs rituals in showing worship of an object or veneration

I find that the word occult refers beyond ordinary understanding, secret knowledge known only to initiates, dealing with supernatural.

This person has found it necessary to throw sticks and stones at me instead of considering the literal meaning of the words. This person has chosen to insult me, from what I gathered, because he/she has nothing intelligent to debate this point.

This is not a question regarding who's faith is the only truth.

I am sure that this request will bring an assortment of comments from those offended by the possibility of such a connection. I am not offended and have no intention of causing such....just an exploration of the word meanings....

Of course we aren't 1/4 flowers.

Who cares that we share some dna with chimps. What does that REALLY prove? Nothing other than the fact that we are earth-based life forms. We were created to live in the same atmosphere and eat some of the same foods. It doesn't mean we COME FROM THEM.

Imagination. I mean, everything comes from thought first. "I think, therefore I am." "Whatever a man thinketh, so shall he be." Someone thought/imagined up the computer, then manifested it into physical form. Etc. Etc.
So the men, with great imagination, who wrote the bible, giving their God male traits, characteristics and personality as their image of it, could of easily left off 'I nation' and replaced it with an 'e' thereby establishing a strong foundation for the confusion around the book.
Your thoughts?

How many names will I be called????

First off, don't get me wrong. I have no problem if people believe in evolution. If atheist parents would like to teach their children about evolution at home, that's fine. However, I don't think that schools are really the place to learn about scientific theories.

The first amendment to the constitution protects my freedom of religion. This means that it is illegal for government to teach facts that go against my religion, even if those facts are true. Just because evolution is true does not make it acceptable to teach in schools.

If I want to teach my children falsehoods that should be up to me, and government should not step in to teach them about things like "science," "logic," and "critical thinking."

Does anybody else agree?

Athiests/Agnostics - If your answer is "bible is full of it," your opinion has been noted, so no need to answer. Thanks.

So here's my question:

Gen 1 claims that all the animals were created, then Adam, then Eve. Gen 2 claims that Adam was created, then animals, then Eve.

Since they cannot both be correct, which one is? And if this is the word of God, how can one be wrong?

As a Christian, I can see where Micro-evolution exists..survival of the fittest and all. But Macro-evolution, where a species takes on the form of another species, well I can't. So other than the "missing link" can you give me an example.

Why is abortion any more acceptible than murder?
that was the question, my question is

How many Christians would admit to having an abortion, and of those who admit to it, if there are any, what do you think God thinks of it?

personally, I think life starts when the sperm enters the egg, and the cells start dividing...that is the start of a new life when cells are dividing-multiplying. That is just me, my opinion.

I wouldn´t be suprised if this question gets removed, I know some one has it in for me. Been trying to get my account suspended...I am still here :)

"who killed both the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they do not please God and are contrary to all men, forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, so as always to fill up the measure of their sins; but wrath has come upon them to the uttermost."---1 Thessalonians 1:15-16

Why would God poor out His wrath on His own chosen people? Think this is silly? Well it happend in AD 70. Still today the Jews as a whole do not believe in Jesus as the Messiah. Do you think they please God today?

If Jesus came to save Humanity, then why would followers of Jesus Christ prefer to say,

"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

THEN Jesus telling same followers,
James 2: 14

"My friends, what good is it to say you have faith, when you don't do anything to show that you really do have faith? Can that kind of faith save you? If you know someone who doesn't have any clothes or food, you shouldn't just say, "I hope all goes well for you. I hope you will be warm and have plenty to eat." What good is it to say this, unless you do something to help? Faith that doesn't lead us to do good deeds is all alone and dead"

Look at the World around and please tell me which one should be used?

Why not a 1000 year ago or 500 years from now? WHY did God choose this generation? Look here what I just finished reading in Luke 21:20 When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. 21) Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the city get out, and let those in the country not enter the city. 22) For this is the time of punishment in fulfillment of all that has been written.
How close do you all think we are?
