I've seen this word in the R&S section a few times but I have no idea what the reference is. Some sort of crocodile-duck I'm supposing but I don't know where/how the word was "coined" and in what context. Anyone?

It's a combination of the words "crocodile" and "duck".

The former child star turned evangelical Bible-thumper Kirk Cameron asked on national television why "evolutionists" haven't found a "transitional species" that is half one animal, half another. To demonstrate what that might look like, he held up a computer generated image of a "half crocodile, half duck" creature, or as he called it, a "crocoduck".

We're STILL laughing about it to this day.

Kirk Cameron said it in a debate against atheism, because, in his vast ignorance, he thought that the theory of evolution predicted that a creature called the crocoduck would exist.

kirk and ray comfort from "way of the master" use it as an argument against evolution.

they have a (computer edited) picture of this half duck half crocodile, and ask why it doesnt exist.

its a pathetic attempt at disproving evolution.

Kirk Cameron used the term to try to discredit evolution in a televised debate on Nightline with the Rational Response Squad. It was so ridiculous that we latched on to it, and it's become a running gag.

It means "Kirk Cameron will never work in Hollywood ever again, but will live on through Youtube for months to come!"

Never truck with a crocoduck
No, you can't get friendly with a crocoduck
Don't be taken in by his welcome grin
He's imagining how well you'd fit within his skin
Never truck with a crocoduck
Never dip your hat and stop to talk awhile
Never run, walk away, say good-night, not good-day
Clear the aisle but never smile at Mister Crocoduck
You may very well be well bred
Lots ot etiquette in your head
But there's always some special case, time or place
To forget etiquette
For instance:
Never truck with a crocoduck
No, you can't get friendly with a crocoduck
Don't be taken in by his welcome grin
He's imagining how well you'd fit within his skin
Never truck with a crocoduck
Never dip your hat and stop to talk awhile
Never run, walk away, say good-night, not good-day
Clear the aisle but never smile at Mister Crocoduck.

It's "evidence" brought forth by religious people (Kirk Cameron?) as a means to disprove evolution. Pretty stupid if you ask me.
